Because the old one has the ivory tower bent wrist look to it. At least the new one will look better, especially for athletics.
Let's face it, there is only so much you can do with wheat in the picture. Until they bury the wheatshocker thing, and just go with the shockers with a totally new look and logo, WSU will pretty much have the same type look to their logo. I would rather see a logo with WSU with a lightning bolt (shocker part) than the wheat.Comment

Not so sure what an "ivory tower, bent wrist look" is. Since this logo is to be used by the entire university and not just the athletics department I have no problem with a little class to the look. I'm not a huge fan of this logo, nor am I a huge fan of the new font for letterhead. I would have preferred something a little less cartoony.Comment
