  • MVC Fantasy Draft article - Round 1

An idea was given to me to write an article about what would happen if all the players in the MVC (except freshmen) were thrown into a player pool and drafted by the schools. After a little research, I've come up with this:

At Examiner.com™ we help you excel personal finance, boost income, invest wisely, travel smart, reach financial freedom faster, and enjoy life on a budget.

I have a major gripe with the first pick..everything else seems reasonable.

      Fun little game...

      But,

-P'Allen doesn't go first... heck he may fall all the way to Creighton. Speaking of, Koch looks like the prototypical Bluejay big man, I could see it.

-You saved yourself a feces-storm of emails by having Toure' selected by WSU. We love Houston guards here in Wichita, and Toure' and WSU are right as rain.

-With our second pick, I'd still take Shockers. JT Durley or David Kyles.

I suppose I'm throwing out the attitude issues, because I think he'd gel with Cuonzo Martin. He's an extremely talented young man, and in this style of draft, to have him for two seasons is a bonus. Murry and Dillard are the next two (in either order) young guys that will make a difference in this league.

Durley will be making an appearance likely in the second round... we'll have to see where Kyles falls.

Pretty fair assessment of talent in the league. But I'd agree with others that there's no way Stinnett would be my first pick. Eldridge is hands down the top talent in the league.

I suspect Mayhem has P'unky Brewster first because he has two years left instead of one.

I'd still take 1 year of O over 2 of P. He brings that much more to the table in my mind.

Yes... you are drafting a team one time.

P has two years left. That's the only reason. I think he can be a 17-20ppg guy if he keeps his head on.

You didn't make this clear at the beginning.

With your first choice, you distroyed your credibility; I wouldn't have P' on any team of mine because the "issues" he would create would outweigh any contribution he might make.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

If I'm going to "distroy" my credibility, at least spell the word right.

The point was maybe a new coach would be able to harness his talent without the attitude issues. I think you'd agree that besides OE, he's the best returning player to the league, and he has two years left. I really think P' has enough raw talent to develop into a good pro player.

Plus, it's a fantasy draft. No reason to get too upset by it...

Sorry mayhem, you're just not going to find too many Shocker fans that would want him anywhere near our program, and would certainly not take him in the first round of an MVC draft. Even with all his "talent", I would go far enough to say that he would possibly even go undrafted by Wichita State.

Creighton can have him, MO St. can have him, anybody else can have him.

All your other picks are justifiable though, good work. Good discussion.

                            Agreed.

A cancer with talent is still just a cancer.
