  • NBA Draft - MVC Style

I thought since the NBA Draft will be uneventful for the league, we could look at MVC players who have been drafted in the last 20 years.

It's hard to believe that there weren't more MVC players drafted...

Agreed. More than almost any other sport, there is enormous competition for spots in the NBA. There is a huge pool of talent, both domestic and international, and small rosters. Compare the number of players drafted yearly by the MLB or NFL to the NBA and it is easy to see how even really good players could go undrafted.

WSU would have had one on that list had Mo stayed.

I thought Mo signed as an undrafted free agent.

This makes sense. Even though only 60 are drafted, I'm still surprised that more guys haven't at least been picked from the league. I know the NBA won't have rosters full of MVC guys, but it seems like there have been almost none. We are talking 8 guys in the last 20 years.

It's not like the Valley has been exceptionally strong for most of the past 20 years either.

If enough schools can keep improving then we may see that number grow as we land more athletes. Until then...
