I just don't see UNI with near as much upside compared to other teams in the Valley.

They will almost certainly be the preseason fav because they won and lose little. I still don't see them finishing above 4th.
Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
    RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.
Save Shocker Sports - A rallying cry

I do see the logic with them being picked #1 PRESEASON...so that I won't argue if that should happen. But personally I will be VERY surprised if they finish in the top 4 next year. I think they overachieved by a landslide last year while a team or two underachieved....and this year they would have to overachieve even more IMHO.
Come on... Drake lost three key seniors and THEIR COACH after the 28-5 season. There is no comparison.

Remember, this is just preseason. Funny things happen on the way to the conference season. I'm not saying UNI is a lock, but they are better than they are getting credit for.

Drake could have lost its game at WSU in 2007-8; the Shocks were down by 3 with 30 seconds (approximately) left and had the ball. Even with "baby Doc" (i.e. Dr. Tom Davis junior) and the three players, Drake would not have been a lock to repeat in 2008-9. My guess is that they would have repeated because the MVC was down last year but nobody knows.

If the MVC is down like in 2008-9, I agree that UNI has an ourstanding opportunity to repeat. If the Valley improves a lot, UNI will not repeat.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.
