I'm surprised that a kid averaging nearly 20 and 8 per game didn't make his way onto Scout or Rivals. Did he not play AAU ball and as such, wasn't noticed?

How does a kid with that kind of production only warrant honorable mention in his city? Or was he all-city and all-state HM?

I have to think somebody down there in football country wasn't paying attention.

I read where he sustained some type of injury during his senior season... maybe that made a difference?

I think he was overshadowed by a young man named DeMarcus Cousins.

Anyways, this is yet ANOTHER example of our staff working harder than the other guy and finding a QUALITY young man, with good skills, very good athleticism and tons of upside while other staffs are complaining about who they have shot at "at our level".

In looking at him, he reminds me alot of Steve Woodbury from South High (88-90). I just hope he's as good as Steve was.

I would be thrilled. He may have went to Kansas but I always enjoyed watching Woodbury play. Had he not had knee problems he would have had even more success then he did.

I also ran into the guy while he was coaching at an MAYB Tournament in the area. Heck of a nice guy.

Was he ranked by scout or rivals?

Since he was not recruited by a BCS school he will not be on Rivals or Scout and if he is he would be a 1 or 2 star. If he had been signed by Alabama he would be an automatic 3 star or higher.

It has to bother me a little bit that he is not ranked and "under the radar".....but who knows..he has good size and apparently can shoot....A guard by the name of Jason Perez was by my recollection not highly sought after and we all know how that turned out!

Sounds like a good kid. As a WSU student in the dark period, it waskind of hard to root for a team whose students were being arrested, jerks around campus & in & out of the classroom.

His coach mentioned that he would be an elite player in the Valley. I never heard a recruited described a bsd plsyer. I haven't heard much hype about a guy coming in to be a bench warmer.

What are reasonable expectations for some of our players? It seems like we saw a couple last year that showed that they have a chance to be on an all-Valley team. (Murry & I think Durley could be). Some of these incoming guys sound pretty good.

Expect an RDR post here soon about his like of long, tall guards. I know he will approve of this signing.

I definitely like that trend ShockRef. These guards are really bigger than most of the guards that WSU has had in the past. And they appear to be just a little bit more athletic as well. Once they get into the system and learn it, I think that all of the fans will be very happy with the product that is on the floor.
