1979 High School All Star Game. Best Class Ever

I never did get to see the High School games of South playing Heights back in the Carr versus Ross days. However, others told me it was something to never forget and was awesome to see. I also did not see the famous High School All Star game with Carr and Ross versus Mark Aquire and Isiah Thomas (I think) here at WSU, but I think both teams scored over 100 points. However, I did catch part of a televised McDonalds High School All American game where I think Aubrey Sherrod and Michael Jordan were Co-MVP's. It also seemed like Greg Dreiling and Patrick Ewing played in that same game.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

FSF, you are partially right about everything except Patrick Ewing.
Ewing did not play in the ballgame, because he was disqualified from doing so. He had participated in the maximum number of post high school all-star games allowed, prior to the McDonald's AA at WSU. However, he was at the ballgame.
I was at the ballgame sitting on the floor to the right of the tunnel and saw him walk in, dressed in street clothes. He took a seat on the bench with the East All-Stars, though.
I think you will find the box score does not show that he played. In fact, I recall thinking that it was too bad that the Parade Magazine, "Player of the Year" was not able to play in the game. Nevertheless, it was a fun game to watch.

Darnell Valentine was 2 years ahead of Antoine Carr at Heights as well and that Heights team was incredible.
In that era, Southeast was good, Kapaun was good, and Heights and South were great. Needless to say, we never missed a game.
