Billie G is a good coach and recruiter -- he just isn't a good a$$ kisser. Apparently there were things Kentucky wanted him to do that he did not do. I can only surmise that had to do with sucking up to the Alumni.

Billie's personality just didn't fit in with the bluebloods. From what I could tell, Billie is very much a down to earth type person.
His record at UTEP and aTm speaks for itself, but the whole Kentucky gig was squirrelly from the get-go. As I understand it, he never did sign his contract in the 2 years he was there, and the drama around him going in the first place tells me he may be a good coach, but he may have let success get to his head. Hence, my facetious comments about taking over the train wreck that is Iowa.

On top of that, his recruiting apparently is good enough for UTEP and aTm, but many coaches can recruit "at that level". I remember reading some of the UK fans comments on their forum when Garrett was still talking to UK, and BG was having considerable trouble landing his preferred (1st, 2nd, 3rd choices) big man recruits, none of whom signed with UK.
Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

I don't agree. Go to youtube and watch how he conducted himself during half-time interviews, post-game interviews and his house tour. He was a pompous.

Plus if any, I mean any, of the nonsense alleged against him off the court is true, he shouldn't be coaching anywhere.

If some nimrods at A&M still want him over Turg, they need a lobotomy.
Because Denny Crane says so Dammit!

Now their top two guards - both sophomores and double-digit scorers - appear likely to transfer to MVC schools: Jake Kelly to Indiana St. and Jeff Peterson to Missouri St.

One other player is leaving and another is also likely.

          A 2010 commit decommitted.

In two years, the MVC may have three former Hawkeyes playing against one another.

Any chance the CBE could replace them with a better team? We may only end up playing one good team in that tournament next year.
Kelly announces he will indeed be going to ISBlue. He will file a hardship appeal stating his mothers death in a plane crash in June is the reason he is transferring closer to home.
