I think the 6600 attendance figure is wrong. There were not 3800 empty seats in the arena and the attendance was as good as some of the regular season attendance IMO with respect to the empty seats I could see in the general admission area and over on the west side. Did they include the students in the 6600 or was that just paid tickets? Do they sell some that were not reported to the CBI for some reason?

I expect this game to be a sell-out or nearly sold out since it is not spring break and it is Stanford coming in.

Apparently Stanford just "toyed" with Boise State.

I wondered the same, as I've seen CKA with crowds in the 6000 range, and it was more empty than Wednesday night, IMHO. I thought we had more like 7500-8000 Wednesday night.

I admit I was shocked when they announced the attendance numbers. I would have guessed 7500-8000. Which is still less then we'd like but I didn't think there were 3900 empties.

I also think there were more than 6600 fans there.

Check out this post game stuff from the Stanford team after beating Boise State:

              1) I think the open gym statement had more to do with them feeling like they played a little looser without a crowd. I don't think that was a dig at Boise St.

              2) At the 4:11 mark they are asked what they feel about playing Wichita St and Jeremy Green just laughs while the other dude could hardly keep a straight face. We need to put these guys in their place!

              Sorry forgot the link :)

Based on the larger sections of mostly empty seats, my guess was 7000-7500. Factor in the single empty seats scattered around (we had a couple in row 7 of our section) and I can accept the 6600 number.

On a side note, for most of the first half, there were four empty seats right next to us. With about 4 minutes remaining 3 people finally occupied them. They acted like they were pretty important. They seemed annoyed when my son and I went to and returned from the restroom at halftime.

Anybody sitting in row 12 of section 120 Monday night better be ready for ShockBand, HockeyShock and Co. to be yelling all night long! This is a rare treat for me to sit this close and I'm taking advantage of it!

The team definitely needs to see this for "bulletin board" material.

Hey Royal, got a flip-off smilie somewhere that we could use for an exception such as this?

I'm not saying that we are going to win, but I absolutely can't stand players who voice their feelings about another team being beneath them. They may THINK it, but they should be smart enough to not SAY it aloud. I certainly hope that none of our players EVER do anything that crass regarding another team, and I don't care what team it is. It would really lower my opinion of that team member and I never want to say I don't like a WSU player.

Perhaps the cardinal will bring the infamous Stanford band for halftime entertainment. Mr. Blair could run through the trumpet player.

I've been in a cave the past couple of days... has there been a 'strong' marketing effort for Monday night's game?

I'll be around 4 rows up next to the student section with my brother and one other. We're looking forward to showing Stanford how we do it in the midwest!!!

                              A couple of thoughts.....

1)is gostanford.com really the athletic web site? If so....damn.

2)I wonder if Jeremy Green ever played against Toure? Jeremy (laughing #5) is a freshman from Austin TX and had to be one of the better players in the state.

The entire student body giggling at him when introduced (instead of the who cares) would be appropriate.

I have some points in general I think will take to another thread.

Saw Stanford in the NCAA tourney last year; their band is awesome!
