  • Buying CBI tickets (Updated!)

I do have to say that I've been a fan of the GoShockers.com ticket purchasing system for awhile. Granted, the server choked on itself when it came time to buy regional / super regional tickets a few years ago but I still get my duckets then. So I will say ordering my section 115, row 34, seat 2 ticket was pretty easy. If you haven't gotten on there and bought your ticket, what are you waiting for?!

That said, I'm not to thrilled about the $11 I just paid in administrative fees on a $20 ticket. I didn't have the option to print my ticket at home (a favorite feature of mine when I buy tickets on GoShockers.com) and this $6 Application fee isn't very cool either.

$31, I'll pay it, of course. $62 isn't a horrible price to pay to get to see Ramon be a monster one more time. But it really should be closer to $40.

Way to be cheap rosewood

Update! $5 fee was an error!

Turns out there was a goof up on the $5 fee. So they are refunding it / taking care of it. I know, $5 but I'm glad to see that wasn't an intentional charge.

(The $6 I'm kind of cool with since I realize the service they use for ticket processing costs. Stupid tubes!)

I haven't reordered yet, but I must agree raising the price like that is messed up. They are probably trying to make up for whatever outragous bid we made to get the game.

If they are tacking on $11/ticket in fees, I'm probably out. I just can't justify $150 in tix, gas and food to bring my family.

How about the $5 charge to pick the tickets up at will-call?

Pay for mailing, certainly, but to pay to pick them up? Let's see, 8,000 season tickets, say an average of 2.5 seats per ticketholder, 3200 ticket-holders buying season tickets at $5 each, $16,000 to have 2-3 people there to distribute tickets for 3 days. Surely those student helpers aren't getting paid $500 per hour.

All their "fees" for buying online or where ever are starting to piss me off. I realize it's only a few bucks, but if you want to change the price of the tickets, just do it.

I bet you are going to be $20 per ticket + $6 admin fee + $5 pickup.

IT just dings me twice because I have a single ducket. (I hate that word, but love to use it.)

Surely you can squeeze one $20 ticket when they go open to the masses?

This is what I'm getting at. I was in regardless. If it was a $40 ticket, I was buying. I'm stoopid like that.

But just call it a $26 ticket. I get that it is psychological and marketing and all of that but it just stinks.

These online fees are everywhere. It's not just WSU doing it.

I tried to get on the website and it would not take the name and password I got in the mail. So I called and after several minutes on hold I got the tickets purchased and they were $40. Just have to pick them up at Will Call. No extra fees so far!

I understand that they have to pay for the website, credit card processing and just the cost to man the ticket office. What bothers me is that if you just walk up and pay with a credit card you don't pay any extra fees (or at least that's what I'm assuming). So those who call in or use the website are paying to cover the costs of those just walking up.

So either call the fees what they really are or spread them more equitably.

Add $1-$2 per transaction for handling for call-ins or walk-ups (better to just add this to the ticket price). $3-$5 for using the website, or whatever they need to cover those costs.

If paying by credit card, add $1 per ticket to cover transaction fees.

How hard is that? It's transparent and done in a way that people understand.

You still have time to go donate some plasma. That should get you $40?
