  • How do the Coaching Domino in 2007 do in 2008-2009?

We know Coach Marshall will be in some kind of post season tournament.
Of the coaching domino 2 seasons ago (Smith at Minnesota, Gillispie at Kentucky, Turgeon at ATM), how do you think they will do this year? 8)

You could very well see neither of them making the NCAA tournament. Foxsports had an article recently about how Gillispie is not cutting it at Kentucky.

Turgeon may have another year at A&M, but it sounds like that may be it if the Aggies have more success next year.

I think we made out the best in that coaching exchange :good: :wsu_posters:

I think UK came out worst in the whole deal. They're the ones that started the mess by pretty much forcing Tubby out the door.

aTm is a bubble team and likely to get an invite. They're 4-4 against the top 50 and Texas Tech is their only bad loss. That's not where aTm was when Turg got there, but I it's aTm - a football school. Making the NCAA's about half the time isn't an embarrassment, and that's about all the FB fans ask of their basketball coach.

I know that both aTm and WSU came out better than UK.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Actually, it looks like Minnesota came out the best.

A&M will be in the tourny. I dont see turgeon being there though in a few years if he doesnt start doing a little better though.

I wish Turg well. We have much to be focused on here in Wichita and our future is bright. M.T. walked away from a good thing and he'll have to live with whatever the outcome. I hope he has a long stay in College Station.

Maybe. I'm not sure aTm will be that demanding. As long as the B12 can get at least 5 teams in the tourney, and if he gets there more than not, he will be fine. aTm has had very little success over the long haul. Making the tourney every other year, would be better than they have ever done historically.

Maybe there is some kind of justice...
The unreasonably demanding Kentucky fans drove Smith out, as a result, fans at 3 schools (aTm, WSU, Winthrop) were sad when their coaches left. Now Kentucky fans have to watch Smith's team plays in the NCAA tournament while their team (may) play in the NIT.
