If it were just the contact going for the rebound it wouldn't have been called. But when Griffin decided to slap the arms of the guy who got the ball and was trying to shoot he made what I thought was a good call. If there's a foul you call it. I don't care how much time is on the clock. If you don't call an obvious foul than you've decided the game and not the players.

Now, if on the pass the OSU player bumped him, and then reached out and slapped him or something we'd have a fair comparison. But that isn't what happened. Even the 0U fan I was watching the game with agreed.

Not the way I saw it, but I really don't have a dog in this fight, anyway.

I am TOTALLY on board with this line of thinking, but it is simply NOT how officiating is applied in college basketball. Plus, there was no possession at the time and, yes we all have our opinion, but the foul was not that aggregious imho. All I'm saying is that call was in no way shape or form consistent with how a Big 12 game is called 99 times out of 100. And the call absolutely decided the game as there was no possession and it was very debatable even without the "foul" who was going to gain possession.

That's all I'm saying...and I don't care who won. I am more concerned that the concussion BG sustained is still very much affecting his game.

Had OU made either the shot or the tip what would have been the decision? From my reading of the rule below it would have counted even if the clock had not started. The referees can look at the replay to determine what the clock should read but not to discount a goal unless the goal was not before the clock had expired.

Art. 4. Whether the game clock is running shall have no influence on the
counting of a goal. NCAA 2009 Rulebook page 88.

I completely agree with you. It was inconsistent with the rest of the game even.

And Blake's concussion is still affecting him. I feel that the league did nothing to protect him from the absolutely unreal abuse that he was taking. There should have been suspensions handed down for some of the elbows he took to the noggin this year.

I completely agree and don't believe BG should have been released by his Doc's to play anymore this season. I know, I know, but...
