I only get excited to win and take a look at the standings. However, beating UE, CU, SIU, Drake, etc does not in the LEAST make me proud of WSU. The Valley is a nice little conference that does not deserve WSU but should be left to the UNIs, CUs, and UEs of the world.
We need to be prepared to move.

I wonder what the plan is from AD Sexton?
Is he happy in the Valley?
Does he want to bring back football?
What are his dreams, visions, and goals?
Is our athletic department simply on cruise control?
I think some of you are on crack. WSU can't move up because it lacks football and the football needed to move up is fbs. Even then whats the best league they could possibly get into? Conf USA or MWC would be my guess. Conf USA wouldn't be a move up in basketball, would be great for baseball however. MWC in my opinion would be a step up or equal in all sports.

So you think ok well what about just making valley stronger.

I Believe that both ISU red and MSU have dreams of playing FBS football evenetually. Also the answer is always 4 more private schools in large metro areas, 3 being catholic. CU is always talking about some dream catholic league of CU, Depaul, ND, Marquette, SLU, Xavier, Dayton, and Loyaola of Chicago. Since ND is independent in football I guess there is always the possibility and really that would be an attractive league.

Even so, say they don't ever get that league going and say Butler, Xavier, Dayton, SLU are brought into the valley and MSU, ISU red eventually leave for FBS football. What your left with is a couple of directional schools, a crap load of private institutions and Wichita State. Wichita State would kinda be the odd man out.

So you say well how bout regional institutions without football. Well hello ORU, UMKC, UALR, UTA..........Besides ORU (which i still wish was in the valley) what kind of a craptastic league would that be.

Valley is tops for Wichita State unless they push for Football. Which I don't even know if thats possible.

I am a huge fan of bringing back football...but pepole keep making having football bigger than it is...

Do your research, look at the Big East, realize WSU is in a position it COULD move to a larger conference and compete with most athletic programs, even without FOOTBALL!!

Uh, no... I'm not on crack. But your post does reflect what scares me about the future of WSU athletics.
To your point, if ISU-red, or MSU leave the Valley for a better conference that includes football, the majority of WSU fans will feel the "big-time" train has left the station without them.
We've got to be prepared. Are we???
