The fact that Durley wasn't on this team really amazes me. Just helps give support to what the article in today's eagle says about how the conference has some sort of issue with WSU. I can't wait until we put it back in all their faces next year.

Winning the Valley tournament would be one heck of a way for the team to make the people voting for that look like fools. Heck, just knocking off Creighton on Friday so they don't make the NCAA tournament would make some noise.

No doubt Durley was one of the most improved players in the conference. I'm not sure I'd say any of our players were "all-bench." I am also still amazed that Paul Miller won the year he did. I am confident that the "Black Hat" comment in the Eagle column about Marshall getting tossed from last year's tourney applies.

The Valley hates WSU. It's as simple as that and it's not limited to just basketball.

Marshall made a great analogy when calling us the Oakland Raiders.

Well the award is "most improved player" and JT just wasn't bad enough last year! He was at 7pts a game last year and now is at 8.4 so that is quite a bit lower then Carlton Fay going from 2.4 to 10.5. Durly's biggest improvement is on defense which doesn't show up on the stats.

Btw - somebody please tell JT he is not a 3 point shooter - he is a frigid .087 % with an 0 for streak going back to Michigan State! :banghead:

He has been a lot more disciplined when it comes to the three ball. I think he has been working on his post shot and isn't practicing the three-which is good. He is starting to look like a Paul Miller with that fadeway shot in the post. He still needs to work on rebounding but did make great strides this year.

Comparisons of plus/minus and prouty ratings last season to this

Durley; Ellis; Gris and Hatch all improved in Plus/Minus and those four as well as Ramon improved in the Prouty.

I also included some comparisons between last year's players as replaced by this year's player. You can move the subtitutions around if you choose.

I do believe this is something that should be considered even if it is a lateral move to similar conference. Any consideration to a move must be well reasoned and not an emotional reflex.
