  • Hannah, for all his points, had 0 assists and 5 turnovers.

Torry, in 31 minutes, had 4 points.

    We got outrebounded by 10.

Only had 7 assists as a team.

From behind the line, we shot at a .263 clip, which includes Hannah's 4-7. Murry, Hawkins, Reggie & Hatch combined for 1-12.

How did we stay with them for 30 minutes?

      It is a mystery.

      • Hey Shockers

Great game last night. The stat sheets don't always tell the whole story. You guys have a very good, young team with a bright future. I feel the Birds were the better team only the last 10 minutes but fortunately they are the most important minutes in the game. For most of the game the Shox were the better team.

I was curious why Marshall went zone in the 2nd half. I know there were some foul issues but that seemed to play into the Birds hands with Shipley, Oguchi, OE and Holloway.

To me Odiakosa turned the game around with 3 determined baskets in about a 2 minute span. he also rebounded 3 misses and had a block. That seemed to really inspire his teammates. Prior to that Clemente had his way with him.

OE was determined to not let Murry get the best of him this time and he made a point to shut him down. Hannah went off as a result but OE slowed him down in the 2nd half as well once he was assigned to him.

I DO NOT want to face you guys in St. Louis. I just don't like the matchup. You guys are big and physical and we don't have the interior depth. Learning to win on the road is the last thing a young team learns how to do. I'm sure next year you guys will be a Top-4 squad at least.

Once again, great game. Best of luck from here on out. I hope you run into Bradley in St. Lou and win by 65.

        • Shipley has definately stepped up for us. Earlier in the season, he would either get mop-up minutes, or come in to try and nail down a quick 3. But now that he's in the starting role, he has showcased a much more complete game. He's defending, distributing the ball and he's confident. It's good to see. That said, Phillips also needs to be ready to go, as we will need everyone if we're gonna make any kind of a run. It's also interesting how although we technically aren't a very deep team, we have certainly looked & played like it these past 3 gams. We've used the entire bench and have rotated much more consistently.

As expected, you guys made us earn that win the other night. The score was misleading, as it was certainly not a 15-pt swing the whole way. We were able to get on a little run and put it away down the stretch, but for the 35-36 mins before that we were absolutely on our toes. Also for whatever reason our crowd sucked. After averaging 9K during conference, only 6600 and not even a full student section showed up. No clue why. That was pretty crappy for a 22-5 team on their 2nd to last home game.

You guys are going to be scary in STL and even scarier entering next season. Good luck the rest of the way...I hope we don't play each other in STL, but if we do, then I'm sure it will be another heckuva fight. Hope to run into some Shocker fans again & have a few coldies that weekend.
