It seemed like the birds were quicker to most of the loose balls. Ramon and Clevin played tough. Ill. State rarely looses at home and have some solid players. Still we are tied for 5th (I think) but indeed we need to win out and make some racket in St. Louie.

Interesting how InSU has not lost since WSU beat them there. Plus winning twice on the road at places WSU lost - ISU & MSU.

Phillip didn't even play for ISU tonight, I think

Unlike the team effort against UNI, most of the guys were MIA tonight. That's not going to cut it in any of the rest of the games.

Who's this Shipley character? I don't remember him. He's already hit a couple from three

Landon Shipley, walk-on guard who transferred from Austin Peay. Originally from STL (believe was all-city his senior season). Avg. 8.8 ppg at Austin Peay, but transferred to be closer to home.

Was diagnosed with Crohns Disease last year and had surgery to remove part of his colon, lost about 20-25 pounds.

He's a good 3 point shooter and steady at the point. Phillips indecisiveness ended up being Shipley's golden ticket. Our turnovers are down, his shot selection is much better than Phillips, and we've won 3 in a row.

Glad to see when his number was called he stepped up BIG TIME!

Clemente was a monster tonight, Murry seemed to disappear tonight. He wasn't in foul trouble and it seemed like Hawkins was matched up on Osiris most of the night. Think he only had a couple of fouls. Hannah was on automatic until Eldridge took over guarding him the last 8 minutes.

All in all....keep your head up Shocker fans. Give your coach and your team a chance to mature. The future is bright for you guys.

and the shockwaves blog today or the other day made a great point, the roster problems they have had has made them a lot deeper than they thought they were. and with osiris and champ they probably have the best combination of scorers that can go off at anytime in the league.

it is amazing to me that uni has lasted as long as they did at the top of the league. to me they are the 4th best out of the top 4 teams in the league right now. i would have them:

creighton
ill. state
bradley
northern iowa.

UNI typically hits a wall in early February and fades. It's hard to say that the team tied for the league lead is fading, but two straight losses including at home to Drake qualifeis as a fade.
