I'm surprised how many are picking us.. but then again I'm not..

We have played better no doubt. But we have yet to prove anything on the road, save for a win at Blue before they got hot. The Redbirds meanwhile have built 25 point leads on the road at both EU and DU. They held on at EU and absolutely dominated DU. And you guys think we're just gonna stroll into Normal and get the W?

This is our most difficult of the 4 games remaining. Unless you guys all think we're going 4-0, this one might be a stretch.

I know.. it's ShockerNet, so I won't continue any further..

Phantom, always a pleasure. You guys seem to be clicking right now as well. I don't see us going Jay Tunnell on you and that would probably be our only legit shot at a W.

I'll refrain from a prediction for now.. and hope for the best.

    :posterwsu:

P.S. - Hey Rosewood.. got any extra computers around for this one? :good:

Anybody think Porter Moser got a raw deal?

I wonder what Illy St. would be right now with him still leading the program?

You're taking a serious risk of setting yourself up for disappointment.

Jankovich is much better than Moser. I don't think its even very close.

              Redbirds 68

I hate to predict a loss, but I just have a bad feeling about this game. But, As Fever says, "I hope I'm wrong!" :)

I have a feeling it'll end up about a eight or nine point loss, but I'll be content if we look good for forty minutes. No doubt we need another road win for me to feel good about going to STL, but we should get that at SIU to go 2-1 the last three and avoid a play-in **opening round** game.

No doubt this will be the toughest of the 4 left. If only we could get our bench clicking again as last game, stay out of foul trouble, and play the best defense of the year----if----if----if!!!!!!! I still think back when we played in the tourney earlier. Georgetown and Michigan State were supposed to pulverize us but did not. We beat Siena who is and was not chopped liver. Let's hope we begin to peak now and just keep improving to the point of a very strong finish this Season. Progress is being made and just how much remains to be seen. Illinois State has an impressive team and will NOT beat themselves.

My predication of closing out the regular season with wins has a much better chance than that one Cold.

Redshirts don't travel with the team do they?

                            My Shocker amigos!!!

I was gonna wait until tomorrow to offer my thoughts but by then this bad boy would be about 4 pages deep. You guys are great fans and love your Shockers. Just as it should be.

I'm still not 100% convinced but I think maybe the Birds had a breakthrough moment in the last week. Between the ridiculous home loss to Indy St-especially the way it happened, and the whole Phillips thing I think somehow this team became galvanized. I hope that's the case.

The Birds played their best road game last night but it's hard to draw much from that because quite frankly Drake is atrocious and they have mailed in their season. Anyone who watched that game would agree I'm sure. Still it was a dominant performance and after last year against those guys I took specific pleasure in destroying them in their gym.

Which brings us to the resurgent Wichita State Shockers. As you know you guys are my fav fanbase and also my 2nd fav team. I think I'll always feel that way. The game in and game out improvement by your YOUNG team is clear. I have been very impressed by this. seems like after the 2nd or 3rd Valley game, the Marshall Plan finally started to sink in and the players seemed to "get it". I think the rest of the league is now seeing what the folks at Winthrop enjoyed for many years. Marshall has good schemes and he can coach. It just took the players a while to understand what he wanted on a nightly basis.

I am confident the Birds are not going to lose another home game this season but if that happens it will be to WSU Wednesday. Your size both on the perimeter and the interior are not a good matchup for the Birds. Eldridge will have his hands full against Murry and guarding him may take away from his offense a bit. The good thing for ISU is that he's had 2 very good games in a row and he destroyed Josh young last night on his own floor. Personally I think Murry is a better player than Young is right now though so we'll see.

To me the game comes down to the interior players. Whoever gets the best of the Clemente, Durley, Stutz (I know he hasn't played as much of late) etc vs. Odiakosa and Sampay matchup will decide this game. Illinois State is a different team at home and the Shox are still learning to win away from Koch Arena. Should be a great game. I will return win or lose as always. After Wednesday best of luck. You guys are all awesome.

I don't think that there is a more athletic team in the valley right now, period.

Shocks will need to be determined and have a few lucky bounces also.
