Royal, someone who, even jokingly, mentions Cohen's name in a discussion that includes Ralph Miller should be banned :)
I'm giving him a pass due to his :poster_eo: avatar. :good:

What is the only University to have a RoY in both the NFL and CFL in the same year?

There is even a better image of Dr. J out there someplace, but I cannot find it. It is a very famous picture. Today, I heard a talking head say that Dr. J's dunk in the 1972 All Star game was the best in NBA All Star game history.

In the photo, Dr. J takes off at the free throw line, one leg is thrust way forward and the other is thrust way to the rear. His right arm is stretch high raised and poised for the jam, when he arrives at the orange. It is a magnificent photo.

By the way, good luck this season. Also, can Johnny Coy hit a D-1 curve ball?

It was a Midwestern school. The RoY in the NFL was "from" the school, but never played a down at the Midwestern university. USC coaches actually went into the dorm where the future RoY was living and didn't leave until the player left with them and was on the flight with them back to CA, which was Farr from where the player was supposed to play that year.

Was Wichita State back in the late 60's?

                          Yes, it was.

One of the Farrs was at WSU. I can't remember if it was Miller or Mel. USC coaches literally went into his room at Fairmount Towers and left with him. It was during practices, but before enrollment. Since Farr hadn't enrolled, he was eligible to play for USC immediately. I beleive he was a JuCo transfer.

Farr was RoY in the NFL the same year Prince McJunkins was RoY in the CFL. At least I think it was McJunkins. I know the situation happened, but I'm having trouble remembering the CFL RoY.

It wasn't McJunkins in the 60's. He played from '79-'82 and was never a RoY in the CFL.

Mel Farr went to UCLA and was NFL RoY in 1967.

Now all we have to do is figure out who was RoY the same year Farr did it in the NFL.

That was a long time ago and it was a trivia question even then.

What about Long? Forget his first name. Did he go to the CFL before going to the Packers? I seem to think he did.

I think his name is Bob Long.

Later, he became a very successful Pizza Hut franchisee.
