  • WSU VERSUS EVANSVILLE PREDICTIONS

    Here's the deal. We need to sweep Indiana by storm. It will take a soild game to beat a pair of purple aces. I think we can do it. What would that mean? A 2 game road winning sweep! Yikes!!!!!!! It means sweeping our 1st Valley team this Season. It means we will come home and seek to continue a nice winning streak and finish out this Season strong. We could really use this win on sooooo many fronts.

    We barely beat them at our place last time. We start a new losing streak. Heck, we can barely beat ISU Blue on the road, what makes you think we can beat EU?

      Great to hear from the other side of the spectrum "SN Public Enemy # 1. " Keep us on the straight and narrow and balance the extremes to a mild roar. Actually, Evansville's defense at 21st and Hillside was impressive!!! We better come to play, execute, and bust our tails if we really want or expect this win!!!!!!!

        Would you have thought Indiana St. would beat Northern Iowa at Northern Iowa?

        Did you think we were going to beat Siena in the Orlando tournament?

        I think it will be a slugfest that could come down to rebounding and free throw shooting - no surprise there.

        We need to win both categories.

        I am hoping we have turned the corner.

          We should always beat EU. No excuses.

          However, I'm still not convinced this team is ready for a "big" road game. This would definitely be one of those.

          My brain says..

          EU 62

          I really am gonna try to be optimistic about this one. I'm just happy we're in a position to be playing for a tie for 4th place right now! Who'd a thunk it? :D

          I'm proud that the boys and coach have at least pulled something together and got us some wins.

          As always, I hope I am wrong. 8)

            In my second half predictions, I said we'd lose at Evansville. I hope I'm wrong.

              Shox now have the confidence of winning on the road.

              Shox = 65
              Cards = 61

                UE - 58

                As the Shox continue on their way to an 11-7 conference finish. That prediction worked last time and I'm stickin' to it.

                David Kyles. His game is coming along nicely and he's starting to get some of Chamberlain's minutes.

                In Wichita, UE really pressured the guards deep, like the old SIU teams. Kyles is a better player than he was last time we faced UE. He's got the quickness to get past deep pressure.

                Aaron Ellis. He's been inconsistent, but showing progress. He's due for a good game. He did well holding ground in the paint against Tunnell. Tunnell is supposed to be a stronger and more physical player, but Ellis wasn't intimidated on D and was bodying up with Tunnell pretty well. Ellis is a matchup problem for UE.

                Clevin Hannaah and Toure' Murry. I don't see where it's reasonable to expect off nights out of both of them 2 games in a row.
                The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

                  As usual on the road, the Shox start off stone cold, but then heat up in the second half. I think they win by 2 this time. Kyles & Murry will have a good game.

                    For now, I'm going to say that part of the problem with the game here against Evansville was a young team getting overconfident after two wins over top teams in the Valley. They know they should have been beat here. They also know that this game is crucial if they want to stay out of the play in game.

                    Shox - 65

                      The real question here is whether HCGM has made adjustments in our offense to overcome Evansville defense. In the first game, their defense was stifling our offense for most of the game.

                      They interrupted our guards flow around the perimeter with a 2nd defender to where we could not get an inside pass, and if it is not a game to where we are hitting 3's, then our offense comes close to pitiful.

                      I hope they watched game tape of the 1st game, and made some adjustments that will penetrate Evansville defensive effort.

                      I predicted an Evansville win in the Pickem, but I still hope for the Shockers to win.

                          Shox get their act together and play much better than they did last time and take care of business.

                            Get set for another UGLY ball game. Both will play D and the O's will suffer. Shox win 55-51. Kyles and Murry pair up at the guard positions for extended minutes to give us a glimpse to the future.
