  • WSU vs. Indiana St. Pregame

This is our road game coming-out party! I would hope that WSU would start to give the same effort on the road that they do at home. If they do, we will come away with the win.

Here's the deal. The key as I see it will be "Hatch 14." It is the story of a Shocker player leading the way from 21st and Hillside to Indiana with some UFO and UFD. Unidentified flying Offense and Defense to get us a road victory or 2. # 14--Graham puts 14 points down the Hatch and we win by 14.

I would be happy just to see Hatch make an open three or jump shot. Honestly I can't remember the last time he made one. He does give the team great energy and effort, but at some point you gotta make some shots.

Boy, isn't that the truth. You'd think a guy that was touted as a shooter could bury a wide-open one every so often, no? Turgeon must have seen something ... maybe it's in there somewhere ...

He would have been better off going to Cowley to be prep'ed for greatness.

Last year he shot pretty well whenever he got into the game. His style has now changed from a shooter to almost a slasher.

How much can weightlifting & adding muscle mass affect a player's shot? Is it negligible if they keep shooting while they bulk up?

I don't think it affects him any. During practice, he doesn't have any problems making 3's. But during practice he's probably more relaxed, where as during actual games he's more intense (tense) playing the tough defense and maybe can't get relaxed on the offensive end.

And he has a different approach this year which takes some getting used to. I remember when we tweaked my shot in HS to try and make it a quicker release that it took a while to get comfortable with it in games. He'll be fine.
