Cold's posting of the Thomas quote raises an interesting point about an oft-debated topic, i.e. the impact of negative posts during down times. Does posting negative comments about a team or its players (say, during a six-game losing streak) create the perception among players and coaches (and thus the reality, according to Thomas) that Shocker fans do not support the team? Do those posts not marginalize the Great Shocker Nation?

No, you can support something, but still are able to see flaws in it. It is called being 'realistic' or taking off the Shocker glasses.

It is hard to sugarcoat a 6 game losing streak, or the lack of a road win when both are so important to the overall season.

Over time, coaches live and die by their wins in their careers, and that is a fact in reality that one can not ignore.

I don't disagree with you Sub as I don't think Marshall is going anywhere. He still has something to prove here. I really believe he could build something really nice here, ala Gonzaga or Memphis. That being said, please remember MT's last season with us and MT's conclusion at the end of the season that "Who would want me (with the season just ended)." And look what happened. Just saying that anything is possible.
