  • Reading lips is fun. HCGM was greeting Jim Les when that last 3 pointer went in. When HCGM saw that he said to Les "Thats Bull Sh*t" several times.
That player must feel good that he made a non-defended 3 pointer at the end of the game after even his own coach had left the bench to begin greeting our coach and players.

HCGM is just quietly building his list of transgressions that will come to air someday.

Someday when we are mopping the floors with these jokers and everyone hates us again, we will be having the last laugh.

      Bank on it! :good:

      • It is now time to get another 3 game win streak on the books which means we HAVE to win on the road!!! However, for now we better 'shore up' this soft performance Maybe if we play Bradley in the tourney, our players will reflect back to the selfish 3 pointer at the buzzer we all just witnessed. As for tonight, we were not near tough minded enough to beat a solid team like Bradley on the road. Let's get some home cooking, offer no excuses, go back to the drawing board, get mean, play smarter, and finish strong from here.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

        • Remember Cam Ledford had one like this in his Senior year in a game we had well in hand. If you don't like that, play defense until the buzzer.

I don't know how good my memory is, but I think he had to launch it because the shot clock was expiring before the game clock.

There's a little bit of a difference.. Ledford was a walk-on that barely got playing time while this guy (Roberts) is a normal bench player for Bradley.

              • Correct me if I'm wrong, but Cameron Ledford's shot was to beat the shot clock. This one wasn't.

                • Ledford had to take the shot or the shot clock would have expired. His only options were to shoot or take a shot clock violation.

Even for a walkon with the shot clock expiring, that shot was controversial and criticized by other Valley fans.

                  • When I played, I would have done the same thing Ledford did. I see no wrong in that. In this situation you just need to dribble it out. Plain and simple.

                    • Scott Thompson got to witness some end of game heroics his first year. KU had a 53 point lead and still had on a full court press. Roy Williams will always be a POS.

                      • hope that last second three doesn't define this game..it was meaningless. You guys played well in the fist half but,,IMO,, took to many 3's in the second half.

                        Stutz should have red shirted....

I like WSu as a program but I'm not sold on Marshall. Proabably unfair as WSU is young but we went wit 3 freshman and two soph. much of the game.

Hang in there.....a road loss won't hurt you. See ya in St Louis...

                        • In no means does that define the game. It adds salt to the wound, you could say. But it does not define the game. I was very pleased with our free throws tonight though, I must say.

I hope you feel that way when baseball season starts and our guys keep stealing bases and doing hit-and-run plays with a 10 run lead in the top of the ninth. It won't define the game, but since you don't see a big deal on what transpired tonight, I expect that carries on into baseball season. :D

                            • Just cannot see that bigga problem with this. Calling timeout and running a lob play is one thing; a 19-year-old kid throwing up a 30-footer at the end of the game does not bother me at all. Hell, it was just one more three that we didn't defend. The baseball equivalent would be hitting a home run, not calling a hit and run.

                              • I'll be happy to admit I don't have a big problem with the 3 either. He shouldn't have shot it but I don't really care.

As I mentioned earlier, Jim Les has assembled a really nice group of talented punks. Assuming they stay together, they are going to cause a lot of problems in the Valley for quite awhile. SIU got all the ink, but BU's kids are just as good.

One step forward and two steps back.....maybe this time it was 2 steps forward and 2 back.

How many times is that this year someone has shot 50% or more from 3 against us?

BU at WSU 1 out of 8 ...BU v WSU 9 out of 17.
