  • SHOX at BRAVES -- PREGAME THREAD

All I can say is that I am very nervous about this one--yet, hopeful.

Not sure what to think yet, but I do think we have a good chance here. Bradley isn't any more skilled than the last 3 teams we've played, but we've yet to win a Valley Road game, or a true road game for that matter.

    NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT!

There is no reason to be nervous. The Shox are 1-8 on neutral court and road games this year. Odds say this will be a loss based on past performances this year, but I doubt we go the entire season with only 1 road win. So, were gonna get another, maybe it will be this game. Not likely, but there's a chance. :D

Watch out there's a little spring in KC's step!

It would be nice to be pleasantly surprised in this game. We're going to have to play a lot better than we did on Sunday.

If we played like we did yesterday at BU, we would struggle to keep it within 25.

I like our swagger and potential and that was definitely a feel-good win yesterday. I still think we're a season away from getting a road win at a team tied for second in the conference. After 3 straight wins, I just think we're due for a loss. If we play well even with the loss, I'll be happy.

        WSU - 58
        BU - 67

        ... No really, deuces.

I predicted a six game win streak and we are half-way home. Let's hope number four will be a little less nerve racking than number three was.

          Shocks - 75

          Braves - 67

Had we played well yesterday I would be singing a different tune. I think we lose a relatively close game...maybe 6-8 pts or so. Its just tough to go on the road in this league with a young team.

Here's the deal. Bradley marched into 21st and Hillside and rained on our parade. We need a road win to expand our win streak and confidence. Let's just win this one and get our first Valley road win.

One thing going in our favor is the fact that the Valley is far from 'stacked' this season. Aside from N. Iowa, everyone from 2-10 is vulnerable, and has lost games to someone that on paper they probably should've beaten.

I agree that we'll have to play better than we did yesterday. No doubt, but don't forget that at least 50% of that was the UE defense, which in my opinion was quite good. Sure, we turned the ball over too much, but we also did that against Ill. State, but we still scored more. I think that the Evansville defense should be credited. There weren't a lot of opportunities in the first half to score for us.

The thing that makes me nervous is, while I do believe we can win this one, I am nervous about how the Shox are going to bounce back from what is sure to be adversity on the road without the Koch Arena crowd to boost their confidence... I'm not trying to give the crowd too much credit but I also know that we (the crowd) did help. They're going to have to muster their own strength and mental toughness in a hostile environment and it will be a good measuring stick on our team's maturity and poise.

Will it be a big letdown if they lose? No, disappointing but not all together suprising. I guess the main thing is that they keep their poise and effort no matter what happens Wednesday. I think they'll be in it if they do. Win? We'll see... I hope so.

If we're going to finish 12-6 in the Valley, this is a must win, so I'll give the nod to the Shox.

                        69 - 64.
