Also, being a WSU student I thought it would be funny to get Self's autograph after listening to some of my friends who are KU students say they were kicked out of a restraunt because Bill Self and some of the coaches we going to be eating there shortly. And trust me, I did get some crazy confused responses from them. I don't even go to KU, talk crap on them alot, and yet some how manage to get Self's autograph, unlike the KU faithful who live in Lawrence... So that was the other reason.

We were on our way back to H-town from the shox victory on Wed. and my friend called and said Self was at Carl's, where we like to go for a cold one after the shocker games sometimes, but my black and gold blood told me to find another watering hole for one night! I truly respect and like Bill, but he coaches at KU. Roy, I never respected or liked! Those of you who come to visit Hutch in the future (NJCAA tourney), I strongly recommend the newly relocated Carl's Bar downtown, the sandwiches are great and it is a great place, I don't even work there or have any ties, just a little plug!

I generally don't patronize bars, but I have been to Carl's once (prior to the move) and their sandwiches are pretty good.

The NEW Carl's is extremely clean, TVs are GREAT, the wood work of the bar is incredible plus they have the old school shuffle board table, which takes me back to the days we went to Tanner's in ict for BOOGA's and beer , then play shuffle board!

The other night I was out at my favorite local bar in Hutchinson. It was kind of ironic actually, we were watching K-State get beat down by Baylor when suddenly the bar tendor walks over and says "Hey Wichita State (my nickname at this bar) look behind you." I turned around and KU coach Bill Self was sitting at a table behind me with a bunch of local friends... He wasn't paying any sort of attention to the K-State beat down or anything. I guess he was in Hutch scouting a player for HCC. As we were getting ready to go over there and get his autograph, the thought crossed my mind that maybe I should ask him why KU refuses to play WSU... I mean, I had the chance, their head coach was right there for crying out loud. BUT, I refrained, got his autograph and went about my buisness. Just to give you all an idea how caught off guard I was, I wasn't even wearing any WSU stuff, wich doesn't happen often.

You make me sick. You better not have graduated from WSU.

Can anybody envision a K-Suck alum walking up to get an autograph from the lawless coaching hairpiece?

You need to find some self-respect boy...

This kid is even known in his local bar as "Wichita State"...

Truthfully, if some of you guys are curious as to why the younger generation shocker fan skips games, look at some of these post. Some of you hate me because I got an autograph from a coach from another school that we have a dorment rivalry with. When KU gives me real reason to hate them, I probably will. Until then, I'm going to treat this dorment rivalry like it's not a rivalry at all because that's currently what it is.

Just as the United States NEVER EVER dips its flag at the Olympics to the host country, a Shocker Fan should NEVER EVER ask for an autograph of an in-state opposing D1 coach, and I don't care if Wilton Norman Chamberlain was with him (and this coming from a WSU AND KU Alumn).

Just don't do it. At least you didn't do it for what's-his-name at k-state. That truly would have been disappointingly incredible.
