It takes 7-3 from here on out to finish at 9-9 in league play.
That's possible, but I'm not counting on it. A couple of weeks ago I didn't think WSU was likely to match their Valley or overall record from last year. Now I think they will beat both marks.
CU and IlSt are pretty good teams.
I want a W in Carbondale. That one's overdue.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
Dare I say that coach has them playing with confidence and 'buying in' to what he is preaching. Still a young team and need this kind of effort on the road. But these are 2 real big wins for this teams' psyche.
Great effort all around.
"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!
Remember the Season recently we were ranked 8th in the Country and did a nose-dive? Would it be possible this YOUNG team could come together, continue to peak as the Season continues, and finish strong in the Valley and St. Lewey??????? Right now, I just want to make sure we beat Evansville!!!!!!!

Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
I'm not predicting anything, but remember this guys:
Marshall comes from a league where going to the Dance means you MUST win your conference tourney. If the team builds from here, and we don't have to play on Thursday, I don't hate our chances in St. Louis.
They can just as easily lay an egg and get blown out Sunday while thinking they are "all that" as they can come out and be good for a 3rd straight game.
However, if you want to look forward.....2 games against Indiana State, MSU at home, Evansville at home, UNI at home, Drake at home all look to be winnable games. That could get us to 8-10....no small feat given our 0-6 start. I don't think we can finish that strong....we are certain to fall back at some point....but it's nice to dream a bit.
They need to just take it a game at a time, and not take any game for granted. They are all going to be battles, but we have a good shot if they keep playing like they have the last 2 games.
Exactly. Biggest game of the year right now=whatever game is next on the schedule.
They just need to focus on getting consistent effort from game to game. If they do that, they'll still win the majority of their games I think (especially at home) as a result. I'd like to see them get a road win or two--to me, that's the real next step for the team once they are consistent at home.
They are still a lot of improvements they can do at home.
- 3-pt shooting
- playing good in both halves instead just one half
Then there are a few players that still need to improve.
- Hatch with his outside shooting
- Stutz with his aggressiveness
- Hannah with running the team
