    Shocker fans

Congrats on the hard fought win tonight. Your team wanted it more and really played a great game especially in the 2nd half. Coach Marshall made some great adjustmenst and we didn't handle the pressure at all. He got the better of Coach Jank tonight.

I was especially impressed listening to the play of Toure Murray. he is gonna be lethal in 2 years. He's better as a frosh than OE was. Clemente and Ellis were excellent.

I think you guys can really get it rolling from here. Your team is starting to believe and that's always the most fun time to watch your fav team. the time when they are learning how to win and trusting one another. I love that time.

It takes some of the sting away losing to my 2nd fav team in the Valley but losing sucks. Not sure what to make of the Redbirds. Just don't handle the road very well.

Hopefully we can return the favor in the rematch at Redbird Arena. Until then, good luck and congrats again on a great performance. hats off.

        Rick,

Classy post, thanks for the well wishes. Your team has some serious athletes and is highly entertaining. Best of luck against everyone but the Shocks the rest of this season.

GoRL, thanks for the kind words. The Redbirds were smothering us in the first half, making getting any kind of outside shot off nigh impossible.

I was really surprised when Marshall got the offense moving well enough to get the driving lanes open. I think the difference was the switch of putting Toure' at the 1. He had the length to space his body from your monster-sized guards and things started clicking.

Didn't hurt that he picked your guy's pockets a couple of times late. :D

            Good game GORL.

            Classy as always.
I'm still convinced ISU will be a contender at the end. The win is extra special because I believe we played a very GOOD team tonight.

I sincerely hope you win out, cept of course for a little rendezvous back in Normal in a few weeks.. That might turn out differently..

Good luck and thanks as always.

Ghost, thanks for your classy post as always. I was really impressed with the Redbirds tonight. I agree with Dana Altman, that you guys have the best overall athleticism in the league. I was particularly impressed with how hard your guys get after it on the defensive end. A really tough and intense battle between two good teams tonight. A very nice win for our Shockers indeed.

I posted in the game thread, but I'll echo GORL's comments here.

You guys wanted this one more and totally deflated us to start the 2nd half. We never recovered from that 12-0 strike you guys laid on us. We couldn't get any flow going after that and the things that were working in the 1st half were nowhere to be found in the 2nd. You rattled us, forced turnovers & hit big shots down the stretch. I've been saying all season that you were a better team than your record indicated and your last 2 games have proven that.

Best of luck the rest of the way---except for our next matchup in Normal of course :D

Classiest group of fans in the Valley. What I thought made the difference (aside from the 12-0 run) was our depth...we had fresh legs late and ISU seemed tired when a little deflated late.

Get some depth and nobody in this league is going to beat that first 6 more than 2 times out of 10.

                          High quality team.
