Regarding my summary yesterday of GM's speech, it is true that I left out his comments about Graham Hatch as that would have taken too long. It turns out I still lived in Mesa, AZ, where he went to high school for his Sr year & Turgeon signed him to a LOI. After that, he went on a Mormon mission & I retired from Honeywell Engines/Phx & soon moved to Wichita.
So, I followed him in his high school career there in Mesa, and as such have more than a passing interest in his career here. At various times over the past year, there has been much discussion about his potential one way or the other here. Indeed, GM did point out yesterday that Graham was among those in various WSU player pileups on the floor chasing the ball during the Creighton game. That exmplifies what we are seeing from him. First of all, he plays hard & is a scrapper. Being the only guard with any Div 1 experience on the WSU team going into this season, he is setting a great example in that regard.
He is also pretty strong. I like the way he takes the ball to the basket & he is a real scrapper for rebounds. Most importantly, he plays smart! I think we are all going to be pleased with his contributions to the team over the balance of his career here!
I agree that Hatch will make big contributions and may turn out to be a starter before he is done. However, I think Hatch gets overlooked, and rightfully so, because he has a much shorter ceiling than the other players currently on the roster.
He doesn't look good in it and Lynn doesn't think he looks good in it either.
He's going to leave the gold suits to Ramon.
Somebody wanted to know what size Gregg is because he wanted to buy Gregg a gold suit. I don't think Gregg saw the humor in that.
Neither did I.
Gold sport coat, black and gold tie, white shirt, black slacks. That would look amazing.

ps. his comments on the officiating were interesting too
Care to enlighten us further?
It might look of on certain people, but it would definately not be HCGM's style. Personally I think he has excellent taste--very sharply dressed. I just wish I could afford Johnston's like he can!

I take some acception to your analysis,i can name players on this team that dont posses Graham's game and probably never will.
I like basketball, cuz if i wasnt for Basketball,i wouldnt be playin Basketball today
I think it would be safe to say - that you had to be there to hear some of GM comments. Some things are for the message boards - some things are for $20 lunches.
But had you been there - you would have been proud of of our Coach!
All of the luncheons have been fantastic!
Don't let the fear of striking out - keep you from playing the game!
