  • Wearing the "Black Uniforms"

I don't know about everyone else, but I kinda like the "Black Uniforms" as our home uniform versus the Gold.

    What does everyone think?

It worked well with the black-out theme. However, if I understand the rule right, CU had to agree to it.

I think it is a good one game gimmick, black should not be our home jerseys. Whites are our home jerseys and that will not change.

Speaking of golds I would like to see the shox in the golds again soon.

As I understand it, the NCAA rule is that the home team must wear the lighter-colored uni. There's a waiver if the other school agrees to it.

If we switched to black for home and started winning, other schools wouldn't agree to the waiver.

I wouldn't mind black being the color in the stands. While I don't want to become the Raiders of the Valley (Oakland Raiders), I don't mind the "outlaw" image. We've already got that rep in the Valley. It started with Smithson the Second's style of play, continued with Howard's attitude, and now Marshall's sideline demeanor.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

The fans kind of look non-existent with black shirts on. This promotion was a bad idea in my mind because now people will be wearing those damned black t's for the rest of the year and our audience will look, on television, less imposing. Now we will have an arena full of yellow, white, and black.

We should follow this up with a "yellow-out" promotion and have some really cool tshirts made so people will keep wearing them. Perhaps we could make them black on the back so people can spin around during freethrows! :yahoo:

            BACK TO YELLOW FOLKS! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They gave out free yellow towls to the whole student section and a little more on both sides. This was obviously so they could all be waved during creighton free throws. Only about half waved them though. That definatly bugged me...

I have no problem with having black and gold in the stands; maybe Cold can be the fashion adviser and appoint which color each secton wears to make it a cohesive effort. :D

I'm not crazy about black uni's on the players. I've never really liked the black as the Shocks road uni's - I think they look terrible on TV. I'd much rather see yellow as the road uni's, but that's just me, I guess.

It was a neat as a one time deal, although I agree that the arena looked empty on the TV clips I've seen of the game. Black chairs / mostly black shirts - the noise level was far from empty though. :D

As for the PH Systems black shirts - someone over there in the marketing department needs to wake up and get a damn clue. Putting the game opponnent and the date on the shirts is idiotic. Everyone in my family said they'd probably never wear it again due to that. The shirts are very BLAH!

I have never like the gold unis, but have learned to tolerate them. Replacing black with gold back in the Perkins/Fogler era was like having your watch dog neutered.

I have always liked the black and the attitude they convey. If we can't have them as the standard home uniform, then get the exception as often as possible.

No way the black uniforms go away. That would be like changing the colors of the American flag...

Have you noticed ALOT of teams have black road uniforms and they aren't even one of the school colors ie k-state and their black with purple uni's.

If we're talking colors I've always preferred black. I do like the gold unis at home from time to time but the blacks are by far my favorite. I also prefer to wear black but most the time where the gold because that's what they seem to want.

I'll be wearing black wednesday though. It worked this weekend.

i love the golds. i think they are the best unis. but i think they should be a reward for playing well. kind of come out in special occasions like the green unis for notre dame.

The main reason why the black t-shirts had the specific game and date on them was to avoid them being worn again to future games. The student section requested the black out last year and were turned down because WSU has been stressing "wear yellow" at all of the games and they didn't want to start a trend of wearing black. We requested it again this year and it was granted to see how it would go.
