  • What was your favorite moment yesterday?

I must admit that I had a feeling of euphoria several times yesterday and the final 35 seconds was as good as I’ve felt in a long time. However, my favorite moment was seeing coach Marshall giving a group hug to Garrett Stutz, Reggie Chamberlin and a couple of other players on the bench as the final seconds expired… it was a special moment and I wish I had a picture of it. Seriously, it brought tears to my eyes and reminded me of a ‘tough love’ father showing a lot of love to his children. Sure, its just one game and tomorrow is a new day, but yesterday was special in many ways. The movie ‘Hoosiers’ comes to mind when at the very end, Gene Hackman (Coach Norman Dale) says, “I love you guys!”

I saw that too and I could tell that Gregg was a little choked up. Must have felt good for him to rid some of the pressure that has been building on him.

So much good occurred yesterday. Our players now know they can beat a very good team when they hustle and execute. The fans were so very loud at times and have never given up on our Shocks. We had some TV exposure that was a shot in the arm for recruiting and serving notice that we are back!!!!!!! Ellis was just tough on both sides of the court. The fans just keep cheering at the end. My favorite moment was when the Hawk went in for the slam with an exclamation point!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

The big block by JT!!! I saw the play coming and figured we were in for a big dunk by the CU player. When JT showed he is capable of preventing others from scoring and decided to not allow him access to the goal was huge.

The big block by Ellis when he came flying out of nowhere was quite nice too.

I may just have to go watch the game again here in a few. It was the first thing I did this morning when I woke up.

The ball was on the floor and the shocker got it. Oh that happened about 6 times. Just all the hustle that never stopped.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

Watching my son get to his feet faster than I could when Hatch got the fast break pass and took it to the hole. He seemed to have known it was coming before anyone else in our area.

All of the observations above were moments that people will remember for many years. Two others stood out for me.

Garrett getting his 3rd foul at the beginning of the second half. Didn't look like a good call. They had a close up on Garrett for several seconds and it looked he just wanted to cry. But I could tell that Garrett had a level of anger, frustration and determination that will serve him well going forward.

The other was in the final two minutes of the game. Toure jacked up a premature shot. Somehow, I don't remember what happened, it didn't burn us, and a timeout was called. The look on HCGM's face as Toure walked toward him. Coach had this little smile on his face, and started teaching Toure. You could tell the coach knows Toure is something special and we have many good memories coming our way, but right now, TM still has some learning to do.

Both moments told me the future of this team/program is bright and better days are ahead. Still have a ways to go this year, but the next few seasons are going to be a lot of fun.

Oh yeah, one more: Ramon Clemente actually showing some offensive skills - looked like a big guard at times. Bring it on Ramon!

Watching JT bust his arse. I commented to my wife several times that I couldn't believe he was still playing so hard.

Too many to mention, but perhaps Murry's dribble penetration under control and drilling the 10-12 footer to put the nail in the coffin. I also liked P-Allen missing the pass right in front of Mike Kennedy. The look on his face was memorable.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Ellis' block, to be sure. I immediately had a feeling that this game was going to be different.

I think were going a little overboard. Yesterday was good but in the big scheme of things it was not all that memorable (unless this starts some remakable turnaround for the season).

This is the highlights of a game that will live in my memory because of the The Shot
