  • Will shocks end up with more wins this year than last?

Does anyone think we will end up with more than 11 wins?

On a positive note Marshall did have more wins his first year than Turg did.

Turg wins improved every year but his last. 9,15,18,21,22,26,17

Winthrop is probably feeling the same as they are currently 3-12 and just snapped a 10 game losing streak.

Right now I'm in the one game at a time mode. I'm just hoping to get off 6.

No, I don't see us winning 11 games. We just got manhandled by a team that was 0-5 in conference. We seem to bring out the best in teams, and
I would discount the games against Georgetown and Michigan State. They would kill us now. They have gotten better as the season progressed, we haven't.

We are streaky on everything, from shooting to rebounding to turnovers, and our players don't seem very well 'gelled' together. Hawkins seemed to get better, but he is so 1 dimensional, he can drive to the basket, sometimes with success, sometimes not, but that is all he can do. A 3, in my mind is someone that has a good outside shot, a good pull up jumper inside the arc, and that can drive. Let's hope that Coy is that person for us. If he is, Hawkins will be coming off the bench.

Our guards do not 'dance' enough to create openings for other players for an inside pass. And we are way too streaky from the perimeter, we need consistency in outside shooting. This team seems to be a poor shooting team overall.

I watched Siu and Creighton some last night, and especially the end of the game, and it was a real good game. Creighton stole that game in overtime. I also watched some of ATM vs Baylor. Those teams got it done. They played hard for a full 40 minutes, and finished the ball well.
And they both made a very high percentage of free throws.

Our players have had time to 'get it', but they don't execute like it. Part of this responsibility falls back on the coaches, and the way they are teaching them. Marshall's style does not look a whole lot different than Turgeon's to me, for offense at least, as Turgeon's teams also suffered with underdeveloped offense. Our defense on the perimeter is too far back, and gives too much room for the opponents perimeter players.

I am just disappointed that the season is half over and seems to be 'down the tubes', so to speak.

I'm just pissed because the Shocks might be bad enough to cheat me out of several good binge drinking episodes in St. Louis....

It doesn't look good. Perhaps we can sweep Indiana St., get a home win against MO State and take 1 of 2 from Evansville, but that's about it. We haven't won at SIU in how long? So even though they are down, getting a win at their place is a long shot. It's looking like a 9 or 10 win season.

I don't see any way we get more than 11.

I'm thinking reasonable best case is 10, using the scenario KC Shox just gave.

I'm 2-0 on binge drinking this year so far. And I don't drink....those of you that do, how do you put up with these next day symptoms....it's called a hangover? It just hurts that's all I know....

                Here's a scary statistic....we're 50%+ from 3 the last 2 games....and 0-2.

(And it's no small number at 16-31).

We should get an easy bracket buster game at home, so that might be one win there.

IIRC, We have won exactly one Bracket Buster game. And it was the first one against APSU. Since then we've lost to Miami (OH), George Mason, Appalachian State and Northern Arizona. And I believe two of those (GMU, ASU) were at home.

I'm not sure we could beat half of the KCAC teams right now.....no way do we get more wins than last year, unfortunately

It's amazing how many of our 3's have been answered immediately by a 3 on their end, though.

It's like we get so happy that we just made a shot that we forget that this isn't just a pre-game shootaround and we need to follow it up with a stop.
