SF, I don't why I feel the need to point out the obvious to you but I guess it's like helping an old lady across the street....you don't really want to but you kind of feel obligated.

If we had done EVERYTHING right then my guess is we would have won. We competed, we played with some confidence, we rebounded, we shot the ball, we made free throws, we came back late....all those things are different than what we have done lately.

The defense has been inexplicably poor and the turnovers are unacceptable.

All in all, a step forward as a team.

Again, your constant negativity and desire to pound the dead horse is beyond old.

BUT WE'RE STILL A TOP 4 TEAM! :good:
I guess it is never wrong to be constantly the opposite. The emphasis on the predicted finish is for a particular poster who felt the need to constantly bring up what he thought was a ludicrous prediction of me picking the team 8th. He has yet to respond. Just dodges the issue quietly. I think it's humorous.

So our offense ran that smoothly tonight huh?

    ... No really, deuces.

        • Durley had 5 turnovers. Seems like a ton for a center.

              • Well SF why don't we just let you pick out which ones we win and which we lose and then cancel the season since you are clairvoyant?

                    • As was previously mentioned, it seemed as if we played extraordinarily well compared to our previous four outings. That is the good news. The bad news is that we still lost, which unfortunately is a reflection of how truly putrid this year's squad is. We finally had a game where we couldn't miss from the outside and still fell just short.

I like our chances of beating MSU on the road better than the odds of beating CU or Illinois State at Koch. I hope we can do it, because if we fail, I will not be the least bit surprised if this team starts conference play the poorest of any WSU team in history.

Look out below on next year's season ticket sales. Marshall has one more year to get us to .500.

For the record, I was on Team A under a different moniker back in the day.

                      • I'm worried about that Creigton game. We are capable of victory. But our guards score better on the road and neither play 2 great halves.
The crowd will be jumpin'. I'd like to think it is a good time to learn how to respond. But...

                              • I liked the starting lineup. They really played with poise for a good portion of the game. Some of the bench players contributed, but mostly there were entirely too many silly turnovers.

The biggest good news was that the effort was pretty much there the whole game. The execution was there for over 1/2 the game. We actually made some shots--a big plus. JT only got into trouble when he hesitated when given the ball. I don't know why he wasn't just expecting a double-team. His goal should be to be aware enough to look for an open man immediately (if not before) after getting the basketball to pass to. If he's not doubled, then his chances seem really good to score. He's still improving, and for a long time I never thought he would.

I keep waiting for Graham to find his shot, and when he does, he'll be really good. Tonight his hustle seemed to make up for it. Aaron Ellis defied the prognosticators by contributing (and actually getting some minutes) but he's far from any finished product. I was happy to see some of his shots find the mark. The silly fouls are still a bit annoying.

I'm hoping they keep this starting lineup. It seemed to work on a lot of levels--hustle/effort, shooting ability, rebounding....

I agree that we stepped forward today. It wasn't a leap, but a step.
