  • WSU at Drake - Pre-game

Might as well get this one started.

My guess for the starting lineup:

    Hannah
    Murry
    Hatch
    Clemente
    Durley

    Off the bench:

    Chamberlain
    Stutz
    Griskenas
    Hawkins
    Kyles

Something tells me Ellis' role is now mop-up. Sad.

    Prediction:

    WSU - 60
    Drake - 67

I correctly predicted (to my wife on the way to the arena) that Durley would have a good game against SIU. Against Drake I'm going with Ramon. He's due.

I'd rather have it the other way around.

              I'll go with

              Hannah
              Murry
              Hatch
              Griskenas
              Durley

The worst basketball IQ Cooz ever showed at WSU was predicting Hawk would make us forget about Cooz. Maybe next year.

Clemente has been struggling lately with every aspect of his game. Griz extends the D past 2' from the basket and has to be guarded. Maybe Ramon coming off the bench will be the player we thought we'd see this year.

Durley clearly deserves the start and will be a better match against Cox. He still needs to learn to pass. I'm still not seeing Durley as a team player. When he's doubled, a TO is as likely as a basket. If he can figure out how to pass out of a double - well, that's the next thing in his learning curve.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

a 15 point margin. Who wins is anyone's guess.

I like this lineup with DK coming in and playing some 2 or 3. Ramon needs to get his game figured out.

                    Shox of Wichita - 62
                    Bulldogs of Drake - 79

                    Shox have lost all confidence.

I'll throw out a line that won't happen but I would like to see.

                      Stutz
                      Durley
                      Griskenas
                      Murry
                      Hannah

and play a tight 1-3-1 zone with Griskenas on top.

t7017s thought about Murry moving to the PG, but I'm thinking more SF. Until AJ can start making decisions more like one would expect of a junior, I believe he hurts more than he helps.

Trop, you won't see this one either, but I like:

                        Durley (Stutz)
                        Griskenas (Clemente)
                        Murry (Hawkins)
                        Kyles (Hatch)
                        Hannah (?)

Trop, you would definitely have to play a zone with that lineup, too slow.

Here's the deal. Winning is very good and fun. Losing is very bad and makes us grumpy. The Shocks are thirsty for a win NOW. The Bulldogs are not as good as last year---but---they have some good players and will be a handful at home. Thus, I could not make a prediction on the 13th reply and put a spell on these young Shocks. As always, I will predict a win. However, we need some reverse extemporaneous osmotic expropriations from the basketball gods to get us back on track. Can you dig that?
