I'm sorry, but if there is a conference in this country with worse officiating I would hate to watch one of their games. Obviously, the officiating didn't cause this butt whippin but that is sorry officiating. It's also the worst effort in a game that I've seen out of the Shockers in a long time. Oh well, better times are coming.

I started a thread about what happened in this game. I got to thinking and one thought I had was how demoralizing it must have been to have been defending well inside and then have them shoot absolutely lights out for outside the arc. In the second half they could not miss.

I just think that the offense we run is creating so little in the way of shots that we may as well play pickup or take the first opening available. Did Clemente score any baskets tonight? I agree with Royal that since we at least dominated defensively in the first half and since Marshall's emphasis is defense, the team should not be demoralized at halftime. They seemed demoralized. If I were Marshall I would just start the season over. I would also start Hannah Durley Hawkins Murray and Kyles, and only Kyles because I haven't seen enough of him to know that he can't score.

I'm an official, and try to give them a benefit of doubt, but tonight's officiating performance was a total disgrace.

They don't respect Marshall...he needs to whine more or let them have it a few times. Stick up for his players more. Then the AD needs to complain to the valley and stick up for his coach.

He needs to whine MORE??????? Are you kidding me. He needs to coach at practice, then run the team at the game. Whining and griping at the game isn't going to do him any good.

I'll drink to that! But honestly no. I think we are a team that for some reason cant seem to hit our shots in a game. One of the hardest problems for a coach to work through is a team with shooting problems. That being said I still believe that time heals all! :posterwu: 8)

What do you expect when your coach has pissed off everyone in the conference? Do you honestly think you will get the calls. He called out Altman the other night, he's been kicked out of the Valley tournament, and has had a spat with Holtus.

I'm just at a loss for words concerning the officiating. How many illegal screens did their big men set at the top of the key? How many times did we see UNI players grasping jersey when double-teaming our guards? What the final total of offensive fouls against us tonight?

I'm just tired of Wichita State University being Missouri Valley basketball's little whistle-blowing beotch.

I agree with you KK - I think the officials have never forgotten that the Shockers were, at one time, the most penalized school by the NCAA in the country. We have done a helluva job of fixing that up. I've never understood the MVC's officiating - they call the ticky tack fouls 20 feet away from the hoop and then turn around and allow mayhem underneath. The ticky tack stuff (called on either team BTW) just drives me nuts.
