  • Turgeon - Not What you Think

Any chances he regrets not taking the ASU job? It seems on paper like that's a better gig in many respects. Certainly a better location to recruit to than College Station (no disrespect), Pac 10, So Cal recruiting access.
Wichita State, home of the All-Americans.

I think he is happy with bolting when he did, I don't think his next year wouldn't have been pretty and he wouldn't have been offered the ASU gig. He would still be stuck at a lowly mid-major making a mere 750K+ a year.

ASU stole Sendek from NC State - he has a much better resume than Turg. Glad it worked out the way it did.

Exactly! The reason ASU has done what it has is due to Herb Sendek. I am not sure that Turg could have done it that quickly.

College Station is a great college town.

If you have not seen it, go visit sometime. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Been there. Very brown river; it looks like mud flowing. Very few places to eat off campus and no "good" places to eat. Great faculty, large campus, etc.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

You didn't mention the best part that trumps all of that...the "scenery" if you know what i mean.

The place is growing like crazy. Lots of new restaurants, although most of them chains. Their biggest problem, in my opinion, is lack of diversity. It's very whitebread. It seems like this would hinder recruiting, but Turgeon seems to be doing fine.

Turgeon is 12-1 so far this season, so I would say he is doing okay.

While I am a Coach Turgeon supporter, I must admit he has played a pretty soft schedule.

Shouldn't this be in the off topic or not relevant section?
