  • ellis.... where should he play?

I would like to see ellis get some time at the 5. It seems like he can be a pretty effective player when hes underneath the basket compared to when hes playing the 3 and on the wing.

    Try telling him that.

Not to belittle Aaron, but is he strong enough - bulked up enough to plat the 5?

hes a beast. the only time he looked good tonight was battling for rebounds. it sure didnt look good when he had the ball and was expected to figure out something to do with it outside of the paint. and i have no freaking clue why he shot the one three with a guy in his face with about 25 seconds still on the shot clock? maybe the dumbest move of the night with a night full of them.

I don't think he has that much range. How many points is the 40-mile shot worth?

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Maybe it is just me but he looked more bulked up tonight. He is still a slender guy but it seemend he had more muscle mass. I still think he is a natural 4 who can play the 3. Don't see him as a 5. Input?

                  I've always said and still believe he's a 3/4. He is NOT a 5.

It was nice to see him being very aggressive on the boards tonight.

He is a 4. He is not fast enough to defend a 3 who drives well. He might be OK as a 5 in relief once in a while. He needs to get his shot back.

I agree, Ellis should be a 4. His height dictates that. He may like playing the 3, which is probably left over from when he was 6'7", but 6'9" screams out the 4 position.

The team in general has shot real bad. I don't think they are as bad as what they might appear to be, but they have to learn to shoot well when they are contested on shots. We are a poor finishing team in general.

I agree, right alongside J.T. Durley.

It is a dark day indeed when both the good Dr and MikeShox are raggin' on players.

Yes. Not something I would normally do. Must have been in a bad mood today. Just had a Schlafly Christmas Ale though and am feeling a lot better. ;-)

Something I like about both JTD and Ellis is that they are beginning to assert themselves on the boards! They are sophomores and contributors. They are in the unfortunate position of needing to be more than just contributors on this team, and sadly they have not stepped up to the challenge. I still like both of these guys as upperclassmen that can get it done as starters/sixth man. Alot of work to do, but its not too late.

We do not have a SF replacement for AJ! I'd like to see Murry or Kyles given a shot at the wing. Hatch's improvement over the summer has rapidly disipated as the competition's athleticism has increased.
