WSU-CU Game Thread

Tell me when the upside will begin. Please tell me because I need upside. This team is worse than last year people. Lets get this straight, This team is worse than last year. Period. Statistics don't lie. Look at the statistics and we are much worse through twelve games than we were last year.

1. No way is this team worse than last year.

2. The Valley IS worse than last year.

3. We will win at least 5 games.

4. What the heck did anybody expect from this game? Why should this team be expected to win this game? Why should this team be expected to lose by less than 12? This is exactly what I expected, an alright performance, that had us leading most of the first half, and then a letdown (I didn't know the order, but i figured there would be a letdown at somepoint) in the second. Creighton is going to win the conference. We lost at their place by 12. I don't see at all why that is an indication of us finishing last?

There are MAJOR issues with the offense, this team isn't NCAA bound. But last in the Valley, this year? Gimme a break.

Yeah, i think SIU, UNI & Indiana St have something to say about who could finish in the bottom of the Valley also. We may have lost to a top Valley team on the road tonight...but at least we didn't get demolished by a mediocre (at best) Valley team on the road like SIU. It COULD be worse...believe it or not.

We will not be a good offensive team this year...we will just have to hope we have our good nights on offense, cause it won't be there much...especially on the road. We will still win our share at home though as we tend to put a FEW more points up at home.

Last year we had two guys who played in a Sweet Sixteen and a two guard who shot 90 percent from the free throw line. Please tell me how this team will do better than last year. I have seen no one improve from last years team. Ladies and Gentlemen that lies soley on the guy who makes $800,000 a year. If year to year no one has improved it's coaching plain and simple.

In 2007 we had 4 returning starters from that sweet 16 team...were we better?

I agree, but with a COMPLETE rebuilding job...the guy needs more than 2 years to get it going again. Just the way it is. He's just now getting "his guys" in that he can really try and recruit for a full year or more. And those kids are young and inexperienced. Now he is trying to help them grow while being forced to play alot of minutes...not exactly ideal. His first year he had to just get "what was available".

I agree one hundred percent with your anaylisis. But with the kind of monies these coaches make I expect, along with every other fan, incremental impovement year over year.

This scoring differential should yield a 16 win season if it holds up (compared to 11 win season last year).

Where was all this trash talk before the Creighton game? I know WSU wasn't suppose to go up there and win so what was the big let down to cause this?

I betcha the team goes .500 in league this year.

The good news is that Murry and Stutz will be sophomores with lots of experience. Stutz will be stronger and don't tell me at times tonight you couldn't see where he is going to be a force with more experience and strength. Hannah and Chamberlin will have a year of D1 under thier belts. Gabe Blair will be eligible. Hawkins will be back and is starting to prove he can be consistent. Plus who knows maybe Coy chooses WSU.

I really don't see where the problem is. I get the offense is horrific right now. I also get that they just lost to Crieghton in Omaha, come on whats new? Why don't some of you save the melt down, drama, baby crap until a few games into conference. It's pathetic and childish :D

Great Statistics

This year though we have 13 Div I scholarship players who supposedly can shoot the ball. Last year team did not. So by shear numbers of Div I talent we should be shooting the ball better but we are not. I rest my case.

Coy was supposed to have been at the game tonight. I don't think the way we played tonight will affect who he chooses. Drake also lost, so if Drake and we are his two top choices, then I feel okay.
