Here's the deal. This team scored 167 against a team Coach just said and I thought he said they beat Kentucky there thus far? Yikes! They have several 3 point shooters and will be a handful for the young Shocks on the road.

First TRUE road test. Although I really think we play much better and even more inspired. I think the Shox learn and grow ALOT over the next couple days as even Marshall said their ears were really tuned into learning today. I think we start to see the swagger emerge. Our offense is better as Texas Tech isn't the defensive team that Michigan St and Georgetown are.

      So, with all that said....

Tough one to call. TT is 6-1. A W would look great. TT lost to Pitt (neutral court) by 13 - that's respectable. Beat Southeastern Louisiana (in Lubbock) by 11 just 4 days earlier - not respectable.

TT played tough against Pitt for the first 15 minutes, then didn't score the last 4:43 of the first half while Pitt had a 13-0 run to take a 37-27 lead at the half. TT came out strong and closed the gap to 3 points by the 15-minute mark. Then Pitt steadily pulled away and opened a 17-point lead at one point.

TT likes to run transition and only 6 players had more than 10 minutes against Pitt. The 5 guys with 10 minutes or less were 1 of 6 from the field. It looks like they wore down at the end of the first half and fairly early in the second half.

I don't mean to compare WSU to Pitt, but it looks like the Raiders can run out of gas.

Sorry, but I'm expecting a letdown after the tourney and it is in Lubbock.

          Electrically charged guys - 64

We win the return game next year.

If depth is an issue I'd assume Marshall is gonna put more pressure on them and try to get them going. We have a long bench if we need it. I feel a little better about this game now...

TT has 8 guys who average 5 or more points per game and 9 guys who average 11 or more minutes. But that includes the East Central Oklahoma game (167-116 - the towel manager scored in double figures) and games against St. Francis (PA) and Sam Houston State.

In a tough game against Miss St (neutral site), Knight got more minutes and production from his bench. I don't know why he played 6 guys so heavy against Pitt. May have been matchup issues.

This game is a toss up to me. I am interested in what the Shockers can do on their first road game but i am so impressed by them from this past week. I think a lot of points will be scored and both teams will run the court. I think Hannah will continue good play and emerge as a leader and I think Graham Hatch will step up and hit some big 3's for us in the game and Durley needs to get as many minutes as he can.

Won't predict a score but I will predict this team will come back home wiser and more experienced.

Nothing at all scares me about Texas Tech. We have already shown we have the ability to beat a team like that. Hopefully there will be enough motivation due to the opponent being a Big12 team, to keep us from letting down. The X-factor in every college basketball game is how hard the teams play. Skill and talent goes out the window without MTXE.

If we bring the pain we win.

If we bring the Puffs we lose.
