I'll take it but let's not go overboard ....we must play better than that.
Think about in the past of how many things have NOT gone our way... WAY too many to count. How often have we had "good" luck?

Consider that, then enjoy the win.

      Totally agree.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

      • Difference between Katz and Packer:

Katz feeds himself the crow, you have to hold Packer down and force-feed his axe....

        • We beat a team that was getting votes in the polls, was in the NCAA tourney last year, won a game there, and returned all their starters. We did that with a team that returned 1 starter from an 11-20 team, starts 2 Fr, a JuCo trfr, and a D1 trfr coming off an out year.

And some fans aren't happy because we didn't get enough "style points" in getting the W?

          Tough crowd.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Without actually watching the game I can’t comment on ill advised shots, etc. But fact is those shots did go in….so WSU’s players stepped up when they needed to and that is encouraging. While I want them to play smart basketball, I don’t want them to be timid.

You are correct; however, about not putting too much stock in this victory. This team is learning how to win and they are going to stumble along the way – no doubt.

Like I wrote before – baby steps are required with this team. What I care about most at this point is solid D, rebounding and effort – and I can’t fault them is this regard (the last play of this game, notwithstanding).

I'm overjoyed with the victory. No style points necessary.

But people who are getting overly optimistic early, better watch out. Because performances like today aren't gonna get the job done in the Valley and we can't rely on 64% shooting to come with us every half.

Again, thrilled with the win, but let's not get ahead of ourselves..

                      • Everyone in our game watch group agreed on the fact that WSU caught up on points whenever Stutz was on the bench and lost ground whenever he was on the floor. We were all glad to see him on the bench during the closing moments.

                        Good game, gang!

Yup i agree, all of us should have expected this from a young team like ours. We knew that some games we were gonna beat a team like Siena, and then some days we cant beat a team like UMKC at home. It just shows you its gonna be a up and down year, which we can expect from a young team like ours. But one thing we can expect each and every night is a tough team that will refuse to quit.

                          • Shockall makes a good point. Garrett is defensively challenged right now and there are going to be matchups where he struggles (Siena) and matchups where he excels (Centenary).

This, though, illustrates what is different about our team this year. We have options....Garrett struggles, we can play more JT, Ramon, Aaron and maybe a little Mantas.

Toure is having a bad game? Hello David Kyles.... AJ is off....we can go with Aaron, Toure, maybe David or even Reggie.

Problems at the point with Clevin? Reggie or Toure can take the minutes and we really don't lose anything.

We have options...we have people that can score....now we need to grow as a team and for crying out loud get back on defense!!!
