No offense to the die hard students, because I know there are a few of you out there. But the students suck. All 15,000 of them get free tickets and less than 300 actually show up. Thus leaving a huge gap behind them, where season tickets could be sold. No spirit whatsoever, its pathetic.

But good job to those who actually show up.

Only the first 1000 can take advantage of the free tickets, but that's still only about 6 to 7 percent of the total student body.

I didn't know that...but still...all 1,000 of them should be used, or at least more than what is there. I get to the games around a hour early and only the first like five rows are full.

You are mistaken, sir. "All 15,000" of us do not get free tickets. I believe the number is between 1,000-1,100 student tickets available each game. First come, first serve.

I can't say I'm pleased with student attendance of games, but from where I sit, our sections are fuller than some season ticket holder sections. (I sit in front of the band, so they may be skewed some)

This is dictated by team success, however. It's very difficult to fill the arena when the team isn't quite what it was a couple of years ago and coming off of a bad year. Of course, we have difficulty filling the house for our nationally recognized teams *coughvolleyballbaseballcough*

It's a rebuilding year. Give us until a couple of games into Valley play when the team has settled in. We should be packing the Chuck by then.

Yup i agree, i remember just about 2 years ago, you had to be there at like 10 or 11 oclock in the morning to get a front row seat, now all i have to do is show up around 5, and im still fine to get my front row seat.

But of course, half the students rather watch a KU game rather going to a live action D 1 basketball and cheer for the school they actually pay fees toward.

I'll rephrase, all 15,000 of them have access to free tickets...

That makes them even more retarded because KU sucks this year.

Even last year the student attendance didn't really take off until about 45 minutes 'til tip off. The first five rows full at about an hour 'til is about how our student fanbase works. You have the die hard Shockermaniacs that show up at five and a couple of other groups that arrive between 60-90 minutes before game time.

I don't mind it so much, so long as the sections are full prior to the tip. :wsu_posters:

The die hards should be commended for their support.

Interesting at the last game when all fair weather fans cleared out (~50%) the place was still just as loud.

Just like the UAB game last year, everyone that really wanted to be there was. Still just as loud.
