167 on offense is great, but how could they give up 103 points on defense?!!!
When you score 167 points, that means you are scoring on a lot of baskets, and therefore having a lot of possessions. For every bucket Tech scored, ECU got a chance to score. More chances for ECU to score.
So from that end, giving up that many after scoring that many isn't a surprise at all.
Think about it. It's not that hard to imagine.
They still won by over 60 points..

Let's take SF's point further and examine the TT game with our game vs. UMKC.
FG attempts:
TT-EC: 207
WSU-UMKC: 100
Given the same shooting percentage, but using the pace from our game, the score would have been about 81-50. Would we have complained about scoring 81 and giving up just 50?
