Here is the formula used to get the Prouty Ratings.

Prouty Rating = [Offensive Efficiency + Total Offense + Possessions Gained + Win Rating] / 4

Offensive Efficiency = TP / (FGA*2 + FTA)
Total Offense = (TP + A*2 - TO) / MIN
Possessions Gained = (REB + S + BLK/2 - PF) / MIN
Win Rating = MIN / (TEAM MIN / 5) * Team Winning Pct

For those that don't know how the Prouty system works, consider it on more simple terms:

.5 or > is an A (excellent)
.4 to .49 is a B (good)
.3 to .39 is a C (average)
.2 to .29 is a D (fair)
< .2 is an F (not okay)

The Prouty system rates Offensive Productivity of a player. There are a couple of things it does not consider for Defensive productivity, but, in general, shows how productive a player is to their team.

So, if a coach has too many players in a rotation, you only have to look at the bottom of the Prouty ratings, and sit the bottom 1 or 2 players, in this case, Ellis should ride the pine.

This says that, as a team, we played MSU like a C- minus team, and that overall for the year, we are playing like a C+ team, irregardless of the strength of schedule.

MSU attacked our strong points, which is always good to do, to beat someone.
(ie, Clemente and Murry). We have to be more versitile on Offense.
