I'm always happy when Kentucky loses. But remember they started off very bad last year too and were pretty good by the end of the year.

Your right Charlie. At UK they have a ton of talent and it's just a matter of time before they get it together. I think Billy will do just fine in my opinion. If he could make chicken feed out of chicken crap at A&M, he can win anywhere. I think it's funny that they lost.

Unfortunately, this just proves how unimportant the first few games of the season are.

Unimportant for BCS teams which have the luxury of playing elevated talent and top teams in their own conference which gives them a chance to erase the few bad losses early. But for many low/mid (non-bcs) teams these early games are just as critical as games later in terms of at-large bids...etc.

Shockerfan is right if you think that this team is destined for an NCAA birth. I don't know that we are ready to claim that prize yet.

You're right. I should have elaborated. Unfortunate for some, fortunate for others.

Fortunate for Kentucky, the media/committee will overlook this game and pass it by as being 'an early loss'. And like you said, they have plenty of opportunities to make it up.

Unfortunate maybe for VMI, the media/committee will be looking to pick this team apart, as Garder-Webb last year, with little chance to play any good teams later, and plenty of opportunities to blow games against weaker competition.

Excellent win for the Cadets. My father graduated from the Viriginia Military Institute so I have a small interest in their program, considering military colleges have strict height requirements, this win is even more impressive.

KC, pay hommage to your father and call VMI by the proper nickname, Keydets.

Rather obvious that not much defense was played in the game.

VMI plays a different brand of basketball. They are the most fast paced team in the nation and take a lot of shots. They led the nation in points and steals last year(also, maybe 3 pointers). So, with just the shocking style of play, its no wonder they knocked off an unproven UK team early on.
