    • I really thought Hawkins would be one of our 2 or 3 best players this year and I still think so. I remember Clemente's first time on the floor in front of a big crowd at at CKA...he was lost. I realize the AJ has played D-1 before...so that is troubling....but still think it is rust/overanticipation and some early nerves.

      • I thought I remembered reading that Hawk was to be a very good defender and the offense was an added bonus. His offense looks very OK to me, but he was lost defensively. Can't tell if that is effort or ability or schematic. Obviously he sat down for whatever the cause. Hopefully he will get it together because he has a lot of potential.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

        • Everyone take a deep breath with Hawk. If you'll recall even Kyle Wilson struggled out of the gate to shake off the rust after a transfer year.

I think Ramon has a little Jamar Howard in him, but no one else on the court seems to enjoy playing as much as he does.
Yes. I couldn't stop laughing. It was with about 18 minutes left in the first half, so the mind games start early with Ramon.

            • Hawk may have only had one lay-up, but it wasn't exactly an easy one. He drove with confidence through traffic. We've needed a lot more of that at times in the recent past, and I've a feeling we've got some players who're going to deliver this season.

Was disappointed there was only one dunk. Not that they're the end-all, be-all... but still.

              • I made an early prediction of Hawkins being our leading scorer. I still believe that although it looks like JT's defense is good enough to keep him on the floor and therefore he may push Hawkins in scoring. I believe A.J.'s defense will be there and he will see plenty of pt to be the leading scorer.

Still looks like JT is foul prone

                  • True but he can put up a string of points quick.

                    • If Durley can stay out of foul trouble and last the entire season, I think he'll be the leading scorer.

Hawk is playing with a new team in a new environment. He has to know that fans have sky-high expectations and that he's replacing Cooz. That's a lot of pressure.

About the time Hawk gets over the pressure he's got now, he'll be in Orlando with a whole new set of pressure - playing against some great names on the front of the jerseys.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's a bit into league play before Hawk gets comfortable and starts showing what he can do.

Has anybody mentioned that we might need some patience with this team?
