So how is being a blowhard going to change anything one way or the other?
When you say blowhard are you referring to reporting a few of the things I saw at the practice or just my general internet personality? If it's the latter I will answer by saying that it is fun for me and entertaining (positively and negatively) for others.

    P.S.

Internet forums and blogs are specifically designed for blowing. Some blow harder than others though... ;-)

If that were the case, most criticism would be removed and the criticizers banned. But clearly, I'm not going to convince you otherwise.

I can't speak for those criticizing you here, but as far as I'm concerned, you aren't at fault for walking in to a practice you didn't know was closed. I hadn't considered removing your post until I was informed otherwise. I don't blame you making the post when you did or even the content, because it was done with the understanding that the practice was open. Whether the topic should remain changed upon the knowledge that it was indeed closed.

I don't feel that because someone didn't close the curtains, an AD staff member was uninformed or someone on the coaching staff didn't break away and kick you out that anything witnessed there is suddenly fair game for public dissemination. That doesn't mean you should be blamed for the incident. Others may feel differently, but that is their perogative. That's why I didn't call you out in my explanation. It did present an opportunity to remind posters to consider the effects of posting information that could be harmful, since that is how it was being viewed by some.
I'm exaggerating (as usual). I know Shockernet isn't truly an arm of the institution, just like I know that Obama isn't a communist. It's just when some of us see things that attempt to be moving in a direction we do not like, we go overboard stating our predictions and forecasts as if they were already reality. A few more deleted threads like this though and I think Shockernet might become listed under wichita.edu! ;-)

What you and so many in society refuse to accept is that you cannot force your progressive beliefs in the private sector. There is a right and wrong and obviously we differ defining that.
Why do you have to go off on these silly political tangents? There was nothing "progressive" about Cold's (deleted) post; he wrote something which might, for example, hurt WSU's recruiting by giving a negative impression of the coaching style and methods. This has nothing to do with politics. SN is getting harder and harder to read because of many peoples' political opinions (including Royal) and other people's "crazy" comments.

We're here as Shocker Family. Let's focus on WSU sports and forget about politics or making HCGM look bad or ... As for some people's apparent low opinion of students, remember that students fund a substantial (well over $1,000,000 if I recall correctly) portion of WSU athletics.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

I post in bursts when the mood affects me.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but I'm fairly certain that the consensus is that the thread shouldn't have been deleted. The gun was jumped and now the **** is trying to be pushed back into the horse.

              P.S.

One that authors political diatribes such as yours should not be commenting on brevity or lach thereof in an internet forum. Some of your posts are so loquacious even I can't finish them... ;-)

I really don't see what the big deal is about Cold's original post. Can someone please explain? If the practice is open..... What is the big deal?

I believe Marshall had acutally mentioned that about the time he was first hired.

                        The inferences were there...

Also, when I spoke of not wanting to be a forum admin because "I have a life", that was because when you start up a forum of discussion and want it to be successful, you have to be monitoring/contributing to the darn thing constantly. Ask Royal how much of a pain it is (even with his legion of admins) to keep things running smoothly.

There are times when I post often but I am nowhere near consistent.

SubGod would be a perfect person to start a new forum. He is a VERY consistent contributor!

Let me get this straight. The basketball office threatens to close practice unless Shockernet pulls Cold's blog.

If so, this sounds thinned skinned from the basketball office. I can't believe the basketball office is worried about what is posted on Shockernet.

Royal, will this be the norm from now on?

I believe you are right. I felt kind of nervous walking in there but after the coaching staff saw me and didn't complain I decided to stay for a while. My intentions all along were to bring some interesting stuff back home for the Shockernetters.

However, I am familiar with what a closed practice looks like. The curtains are closed and nobody is in there. I have been asked to leave before at one of the Turdge's practices. It's very simple, a coaching assistant runs up to you and says "sorry, the practice is closed". That surely didn't happen to me this time...

If I would have come in here and spun a story about how everything I saw was glorious and beautiful we wouldn't be having this discussion. This isn't about closed practices, this is about the "wrong" kind of information getting out. I guess I'm sorry about that...

Believe it or not the revelations you made about practice weren't really revelations - so that was not what I was referring to.

I was referring to your general internet personality on SN. My perception is your internet persona has changed from where you were antagonizing fans of other valley schools to now your just doing it to Shocker fans.

You also seemed to have an agenda against Marshall and the present AD that doesn't seemed to be deserved at this point. Now if WSU sucks as some are saying and there is no progress in this program then have it it, but it seems a little premature at this point in the Marshall tenure.
