    Drake beat Truman State 77-61

DES MOINES, IOWA -- Senior forward Jonathan Cox (Barrington, Ill.) collected 14 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots to pace a balanced attack as the Drake men's basketball team beat Truman State, 77-61, in its exhibition opener Saturday night at the Drake Knapp Center.

Evansville took 2 overtimes to barely beat Div II U of Southern Indiana 71-67

    Next up for the Valley:

Missouri St vs Quincy Univeristy (ex.) -- Mon, Nov 3rd @ 7:05pm

Southern Indiana is one of the top DII teams in the country I believe. I think they knocked off a Valley team or two a few years ago.

    I still don't think E'Ville finishes above 8th. And 8th may be a stretch.

Sometimes you gotta wonder how E'Ville finishes out of 11th place. I guess it's technicalities, but they don't deserve to be 10th.

One of these days a D-II team is gonna knock Evansville right back into D-II - where frankly they belong.
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

Drake had 6 players in double figures with Jonathon Cox with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Jacob Baryenbruch came in off the bench to score 14 points with 4-6 shooting for 3's.

Drake may not go down as much as people think this year.

if Evansville's replaced - who would you want to be in the league?

Maybe we could get Tulsa back or Oral Roberts. I was going to say OCU, but they're NAIA. Didn't they use to be Division I? I thought we had played them in the past.

                  Oklahoma City University

OCU athletes participate in the NAIA and Sooner Athletic Conference.

Before last night Tulsa had a football teamed ranked in the top 25. Why would they want to join the valley? They don't play baseball and they do field a solid division I football team. It just wouldn't make sense.

Sorry but the valley will never make sense for Tulsa unless the it starts to compete in football at D1 level.

You guys need to do a little research.

WKU = Div 1-A football; therefore:

WKU = Would never join the Valley

I want Louisville and Cincinnati back. But, I'll take St. Louis back and would love Tulsa back but that won't happen.
