or they might actually look to be the best teams to start the year. just a theory. i dont buy into the bias argument that often. and it doesnt mean anything anyways. all that matters is getting to the tournament[/quote]

The tourney is what counts, but the position a team achieves in the polls, computer rankings, etc. directly affects the invitation to the tourney. Unfotunately, it is much easier to maintain a spot in the electors' collective mind that to improve one's position there. To that extent, it does mean something.[/b]

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

What did everyone think of the MVC assessment of the teams this morning in the paper? Did you agree or disagree?

Seems to me, several teams have a ? mark as to their 'big' men, the 4's and 5's. Clemente gives us an established presence, a perceived notion of dominating under the basket whereas several other teams will have 'raw' big men there.

So much this year, depends on how good our guards play though.

The part about McKenna booting Marico Stinson caught me off guard. I thought Stinson left for his own reasons.

But I see what you mean about post play. The notable post players, besides Clemente, included:

        Eglseder
        Boyle
        Tunnell
        Cox

Not the most impressive list of big guys. A couple of other decent ones I'd throw in are Lawson and Odiakosa.

Who knows. If we are a post-oriented team this year we might have some success. The key for this team will be defense.
