Not surprising but the timing is strange.

It's odd to think about Zona without him.

I wasn't going to totally believe it until the words came out of Olson's mouth...and here it is....

            coach few - gonzaga
            coach lowery - southern illinois

Dana Altman would be the perfect choice for Arizona. Good coach - High Integrity.

Who ever is on the list, this is a really crappy time to hire a coach away from another school. Olson's timing couldn't have been worse. Something smells here and I think there is more to the story than is being told.

Dana Altman will NEVER be offered a BCS job again.

ya, someone at arizona must have pissed in his cheerios. this is probably the worst time to fully resign..unless he was diagnosed with some type of an illness, and his days are numbered - then i would completely understand.

it will be quite a while before coach altman, imho, is offered a coaching gig at another school - and that's not a bad thing for the people at creighton.. i totally respect the job the guy has done there.

turgeon.. from what i hear out of friends in the houston area, there are already a few calling for his head..and that arrogant ***** known as spinnelli.

The timing is very bad unless he has some health problem that is forcing him to make this decision. About the best outcome would be the team finding a former or current assistant who wants the job.

They won't hire anyone this year. They'll more than likely use an assistant as an interim then hire someone when the season is over.
