Just returned from Dillons to simply pick up my Athlon and Lindy's College basketball previews because I am starving for info right now. Instead, I came home spending just under 200 smackers. Junkfood, fiddles, blah blah blah. FSF needs someone to blame and maybe bail me out for such reckless and cavalier over spending. Then I filled up with gas and whew---sky high excessive spending baby!!! Maybe I should charge Shockdude for starting this post? Or maybe Shocker hoop maniacs should not shop for scoop on an empty stomach? Speaking of ruining my massive appetite, Lindy's picked us 8th? Plaaeeesssee! What nerve! Dosen't he know what we are now about? Yikes!!! However, Lindy's does list The Valley under the Major Conferences--and that we can dig on.


As before, I still predict the Shocks to win around 17 games overall this year. As far as the Valley race---wow--sort of tricky this Season. However, here goes nothing because the more I study it, the more I realize I am shooting from the hip. The Valley of Death is up for grabs.

1. Creighton 2. Illinois ST 3. S. Ill 4. WSU 5. Drake 6. Bradley 7. Ind State 8. Evansville 9. N. Iowa 10. Mo. State

It would behoove us not to wish our life away but 'come-on' Oct. 25th and get here already!!!!!!! We will be better than advertized, my Shocker tickets are paid for, so let's get ready to rumble!!!

As far as I'm concerned, 7-8 is about right pre-season for us.

1. It certainly ought to provide motivation to work our tails off.
2. Based on our last two years, the burden is on us to prove the pundits wrong.

With that said, I expect to see a solid move upward from last year.

Ok I can live with we have to prove them wrong,but It seems everytime something bold is predicted about an individual player or the team in general everybody is waiting to shoot it down then pile on.Hey guys we have professional talent evaluators also and I believe our staff when they speak about our talent level being one of the best. From GM at the top to MB just hired they know basketball talent!!!This team will play hard and will play together and that alone is worth and extra 5 wins added to last yr's total, not to mention depth at every position,especially PG.I don't know how many games MB missed last yr but he was the one player we could not afford to lose,we lost him and still won 12 gms.GM have put in some work to get his kind of player and that work will pay immediate dividends.Top 3 finish.
