Perry, I have caught a few visions of your game on the local channels, read your profiles on a few scouting sites, done a little independent research on you, and will try to catch a few of your HS games.

But if you choose to come to Wichita State, my (our) elation won't be because you're a piece of meat that we wish to use for a year or two and forget about........I (we) will want you because you are loyal to your hometown fans, enjoy and contribute positively to campus life here, and are a real asset to this community.

Crossing myself, uttering a few Hail Mary's........and hoping like hell that you feel the same way.

If we have success in 2008-9 or 2009-10, maybe he'll be interested?
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:

Just watched the Shockers dismantle ku for probably the 10th time now...and what a player this guy is. He was the only guy on the ku squad that came to play and showed that "toughness" that ALL our guys show each and every night. Mid-range jumpers, great post moves, etc. I feel like had we had landed him along with all the guys we have had the last 3-4 years that we would've won the National Championship by now. You could almost tell with his expressions throughout the game that he knew his team DIDN'T have the "toughness" mentality to win that day against the Mighty Shockers.

I haven't watched a ku game in years so this was the first time I've seen him play. I came away impressed. He had that look that he would've made a great Shocker and fit right in with MTXE and Coach Marshall. All the other players on ku...not so much. Bunch of prima-donna's if you ask me. I hope at the end of the game during handshakes that Coach Marshall might have said to him genuinely and classy....."Great game son...you were a warrior today" perpetuating the thought in Perry's mind that he knows he would've been a great Shocker.

From all I have read about him, and like you the only game I have ever seen him play, he is a great kid.

Still, he could have been a HERO!

I thought Mason and the PG off the bench showed some toughness as well.

I don't understand the criticism of oubre. He had an off night, but he played hard to the end.

Hard as in letting a guy several steps behind him beat him to a loose ball and then letting him get an uncontested dunk.

                    Yes, hard...
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

Apparently you missed the play involving Zach Brown that everyone is referring to, shock? That was Play Angry vs. Play Lazy (Sleepy?), and Angry won.

I like all the Play Angry stuff.

But at some point I would like guys to be recognized more broadly than just the effort thing. At some point, people need to realize/admit that Zach Brown is just plain better at basketball than Oubre. He can't jump quite as high. Maybe. Even the cool hair thing is a wash. Next year will prove it out, for both parties.

He doesn't play under Marshall, who stresses 110% on every play or you get pulled, unlike Self. So he will take some plays off, and Zach made him pay. However, he was a far cry from seldon. And he is a good player, just as James Harden is a good player. But even Harden would have pine splinters in his ass if he played for Marshall.
