  • WOW...Aaron Ellis

I watched the picke up games 6-19-2008. I think that Aaron has grown 2" gained 20 pounds of muscles, and still has that sweet 3 point shot. He looke the most impressive of all the players on the court.

Hmm . . . my gut wants to say, "Oh man that's awesome. I am a big Aaron Ellis fan. I was hoping he would show positive gain in the offseason." But then the other part of me says, "Is this one of those sarcastic posts that really is there just to stir people like me up?" I will live with my gut.

Honestly, he looked as tall as Paul Miller. We switched seats down lower twice so we could get a better vantage point.

I also watched the pick-up games this evening. AE has definatly put on at least that much weight and when guarding JT was at least 2" taller than JT. AE was playing very well, very athletic hit several 3's and played defense with his feet pretty well. one of two players who really impressed me most.

my first time to see DK and TM, very quick and athletic, i would agree with all the good things I have read on the post's of people who have seen them play. Both hit several 3's.

GS played against paul miller a lot and paul was schooling him a lot. Big difference in experience. But for a player just out of high school i thought he did very well. scored 3 of 5 from 3pt range had 6 assists that i could remember and a bunch of rebounds. he will need to work on footwork and positioning when playing against power players like paul. he was active without the ball.

RC (pg) looked real good. a very basic no nonsense PG. handels the ball well, shoots well, and looked quicker than I remembered him the one time I saw him play in hutch.

Jt was a little dissapointing, once he got the ball the chances of him passing it back out were slim. He looks like he is a little lighter than last year. played very well offensivly. But few were playing defensive much.

The player who impressed me the most was CH. He is so quick he is scarey. he also shot the ball very well from the 3pt line. he consistantly took the ball inside and dished off to open team mates or finished himself. if his ability to do this in these pick up games, transfers over to HCGM's system in actual games we will be very good offensivly. i believe CH will be the starting PG the entire two years he is at WSU. he seems to have great court vision and is aware of his team mates during the games.

RC also looks bigger not as dramatic as AE, but i believe he is. he was also hitting some medium (10' to 17') jump shots. Which if he does during the regular season will help him a lot.

EO was not there tonight, i had hoped to see him.

Watched for an hour and a half. Got there at 4:45pm and they were already playing. They quit at 6:15.

If i could I would fast forward time and get the season started ASAP. VERY EXCITING TIMES AHEAD FOR SHOCKERS BASKETBALL FANS.

Everybody is talking about the defense or defenses HCGM will play ,can you give a rundown about how the guys move their feet defensively, especially the 4 guards.

I don't think that means he has gotten any taller. Marshall has always contended that he is 6'9", not the 6'7" he is listed, and before the season last year when I saw him up close, he easily looked that tall to me.

I am glad to hear that he has put on muscle, though, because that is the only thing between him and being a great college basketball player.

it's just that last year he was listed as 6' 7" and usually players are measured taller than they are not shorter. He is way over that now and is taller in relation to jt than last year. he has grown.

i've always thought he was 6'9". when he first came in i remember reading that he was such. BUT i did figure that meant 6'8".

He was easily the tallest player on the team last year. Why they had him listed at 6'7" is beyond me. Everything else I'd ever seen on him had him 6'8"-6'9".

Ever think about playing with the opposition's mind by selling yourself short?

There wasn't really any type of defense to really judge them by. The whole offensive possessions would consist of 1-2 passes, then a drive or a three pointer.

I wasn't THAT short. At least not in HS. But growing up I was always the shortest guy in the class. And only taller than one of the girls. Thank God I grew before my FR year.
