Originally posted by ShockTalkWhat is really amazing about this recruiting class is the number of recruits and its apparent quality of each and every individual. Also, on paper, the team has no glaring holes or weaknesses. However, is there an AC, Cliff, or X-Man in this class? From even an older era, a Stallworth, Bowman, or Armstrong? Time will tell. What I do feel good about is that I feel some of these players may very well compare to Evans (talent wise at their own position) and there may be a team full of them. Great day to be a Shocker!!!!
Cliff, definitely no.
X, definitely no.
Dave, definitely no.
Nate, maybe.
Warren, no.
Evans, maybe.

X-Man was tough mentally and physically. I only know him of backing down from 1 fight. In the NBA, versus the Atlanta Hawks, he had 2 rough and tough 7 footers come after him simulaneuously. Tree Rollins and Kevin Wilkens. Ooops!!! Gulp!!! Yikes!!! The paper quoted him as saying---"X---it is time to bail out---" and he did. Now THAT is what I call intelligence. One at a time---thank you very much---or not!!!
Against the Bulls, it was said that X and #23 partook in much verbage. As a Shocker, I would rise out of my seat to watch him soar up above the square for a dunk. Each year he improved here, worked diligently to improve his jump shot, and was just a beast on the boards.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Gabe stats tell me he is similiar to Clemente, with maybe slightly less defense, but more offensive moves. He sure looks like he can jump. Wonder what his vertical is?
I bet Kerry has him close to 235-240 lbs by the time he is ready to play.

I had Willis on my fantasy league team for a couple of years.

When I look at his HS stats 21pts 12rebs that tells me he scored the ball in different ways, not just with his back to the basket. When he got to ECU because of size he was forced to play the 5 which according to him is not his position and he felt his situation was not going to change especially with the success he had. This is common in college basketball, some kids stay and deal with it, some kids have bigger aspirations and leave. He know he will not have to play the 5 fulltime at WSU.From what I hear he's a good one.Long athletic rebounder, shot blocker, with some offense.

JT is gonna suprise alotta people. This is not the same kid from last year.I talked to him, watched him work (weight rm),and watched him play that evening.I noticed his maturity.Last summer he was playful not serious minded, this time he was all business.I don't know what HCGM said to him, but whatever it was it's working.I think he wants to be a big part of what's coming.

JT is very capable of being a big part of the future and I believe he can be an All Valley player if he wants it. He just has to stay focused and work on D. I don't doubt that he can do it and I'm hearing he appears to be more determined.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women

I can't believe how many people on this site have written JT off because of bad defense his first year of D-1 ball.
His offense was good. Almost excellent, when you consider this was his first year. Who's the last Freshman post player we had who looked like that on our end of the court?
Defense can be taught. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.
